About David R. Johnson, DDS
Dr. Dave is a lifelong resident of the Kalamazoo area and a second generation dentist. He attended the University of Michigan; where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and continued on to earn his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree in 1985. Following dental school, his first three years were spent in the Chicago area where his time was split between work in a private dental practice and acting as a part-time clinical instructor at the Northwestern University School of Dentistry. This combination of work experience prepared him well for his return home to the Kalamazoo area where he joined his father's dental practice. He assumed control of the business in 1989 and maintained a solo practice. Dr. Johnson and his wife, Kathy, have two children. Their son, Matthew, is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and their daughter, Stephanie, is a graduate of the University of Michigan. His hobbies and interests include road biking, skiing, tennis and golf. He also enjoys working with stained glass. Several examples of his work can be seen throughout our office. Dr. Johnson strongly believes in ""giving back"" to the underserved. He has participated with the Michigan Dental Association ""Donated Dental Services"" program since 1996 and has made several medical/dental mission trips to Honduras. He also donates services to the Free Clinic of Kalamazoo.
