About Basem Al-Taani, DDS
Dr. Al-Taani graduated from the combined program in Medicine and Dentistry from Jordan University with a BDS degree. In 1997, he attended Indiana University, School of Dentistry on a full academic scholarship (fellowship) in the Ph.D. program in Oral Biology. While in the program, Dr. Al-Taani researched the mechanism of adhesion between dental implants and supporting adjacent bone. He was awarded a research grant from the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID) and presented his findings at the 52nd AAID annual meeting. In 2001, Dr. Al-Taani continued his career at the VA Medical Center in Dayton, OH where he received advanced training in all areas of dentistry including cosmetic dentistry (crowns and veneers), prosthodontics (implants, bridges, and dentures), endodontics (root canal treatment), periodontal (gum) surgery, wisdom teeth surgery, IV sedation and general anesthesia. Thereafter, he was awarded a Certificate of Residency in General Dental Practice. Dr. Al-Taani brings 15+ years of experience in different practice settings: Private dental practice, hospital setting, and non-profit community dental clinics.
