The ever-popular [blepharoplasty](https://aedit.com/procedure/blepharoplasty-eyelid-surgery) (a.k.a. eyelid surgery or eye lift)  procedure corrects signs of aging on the upper eyelid, lower eyelid, or, in some cases, both, including loose skin, upper lid hooding, under eye bags, and more. Younger blepharoplasty patients (think: those in their [twenties](https://aedit.com/aedition/best-cosmetic-procedures-plastic-surgery-to-consider-in-your-20s) and [thirties](https://aedit.com/aedition/best-cosmetic-procedures-plastic-surgery-to-consider-in-your-30s)) often undergo surgery to address and/or change the structure of the eyes. When asymmetries, lack of definition in the upper lid, and persistent bags are long-standing complaints, the procedure can be a long-term fix.

But not everyone is ready for, nor needs, an eye lift to improve the look of the eyes. That's why non-surgical treatment options like thread lifts, fillers, neuromodulator brow lifts, lash extensions, and even contouring makeup are considered the next best things. Here, we’re rounding up the top four ways to rejuvenate and enhance the look of the eyes – sans surgery.

## **1. Accentuate the Lashes**
One of the quickest and most painless ways to accentuate and enhance the appearance of the eyes is with [eyelash extensions](https://aedit.com/procedure/eyelash-extensions). By adhering the correct lash extension style to the eye, attention is drawn away from droopy or puffy eyelids for a more youthful and lifted appearance, says Clementina Richardson, a celebrity lash expert and founder of [Envious Lashes](https://www.enviouslashes.com/). Unfortunately, there are a lot of women walking around with thick, unnatural-looking extensions or without a design that complements the natural shape of the eye, which makes them appear heavy and even droopy. Richardson shares that for extensions to open up the eyes, you should ask for longer extensions in the center of the upper eyelid. “Stay away from longer ends, which pulls the eyes downward,” she notes.

Opening the eyes via lash extensions is an art, not a one-size-fits-all treatment – especially if the objective is to take years off and camouflage tired, sagging, or hooded lids ([check out our guide to lash extensions for monolids and hooding](https://aedit.com/aedition/lash-extensions-for-monolid-hooded-eyes)). “Lashes frame the eyes and can do a lot of good for people who want to add lift, volume, and texture,” she explains. “[They] act as an enhancement of your natural lashes.”

An almond-shaped eye is the most requested look. “When you have almond eyes, there is more versatility in shaping,” Richardson says. However, regardless of the shape of the eyes, a custom approach is always best. A universal tip: [Lash extensions](https://aedit.com/aedition/what-its-like-to-get-eyelash-extensions) should always boast a nice curl. When the extensions appear too straight or too long, they can pull down on the eyes. “This can make the eyes appear smaller and weighted,” she cautions.

## **2. Fill in the Hollows**

Injecting hyaluronic acid (HA)-based filler into the depressions where the top of the nose and orbital rim meet can be a game-changer for those who are concerned about the effect the tear troughs are having on their eye area as a whole. “Hollows can also make someone look older and more tired with a darker appearance due to a shadow effect,” says [Robert Schwarcz, MD](https://www.naturalfacedr.com/), a board certified oculofacial plastic surgeon in New York City. 

It's normal, with age, for the fat under the eyes to descend further down the face and for the bone or orbital socket to dwindle in density. These combinations, plus changes to the texture and thickness of the skin, make it more common for the signs of aging to quickly surface under the eyes and send patients running to their doctor's office to fix them. The way filler works in this area is pretty simple. The addition of volume plumps up the depressions to create a more pillowy and smooth appearance. The filler also plumps up the skin so that light can better reflect off the area. “Addressing the contour deficit fills the area,” Dr. Schwarcz explains. If the texture of the under eye skin is a concern, he suggests [microneedling with radiofrequency](https://aedit.com/procedure/microneedling-with-radiofrequency), [lasers](https://aedit.com/procedure/nonablative-laser-skin-resurfacing), and [chemical peels](https://aedit.com/procedure/medium-depth-chemical-peels).

HA-based filler isn’t the only injectable that can be used under the eye. [Angela Lamb, MD](https://aedit.com/provider/angela-lamb-md-34643), a board certified dermatologist in NYC, likes to mix filler with platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) in some cases. “If the problem is true volume loss, those are my go-tos,” she says. As she explains, under eye filler works better for correcting an indent or hollowness and perhaps a mild bag, whereas surgery is best suited for more prominent bags and redundant skin.

Often, it requires taking a holistic approach and considering all aspects of the face to create a natural and harmonious appearance. With age, the cheeks can start to sag, which causes ligaments in the area to pull down on the outer corner of the eye, says [Julis Few, MD](https://aedit.com/provider/julius-few-md-15580), a board certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon in Chicago. The strategic placement of filler can address this. “Returning the [cheeks](https://aedit.com/procedure/cheek-augmentation-with-fillers) to a more elevated position also lifts the outer corner of the eye so that it appears more like a cat eye,” he explains. And don't be surprised if your doctor also injects some filler into the [temples](https://aedit.com/aedition/cosmetic-forehead-procedures), which is a prime target area for volume loss. The brow's tail gets a little boost, too, to make the temples appear less sunken and the eye area smoother overall.

## **3. Don’t Neglect the Brows**
In situations where the [eyebrows](https://aedit.com/concern/aging-and-tired-eyes) are behind the changes to the shape and appearance of the eyes, addressing the positioning of the brows can make a world of difference. Over time, the tails of the brows tend to drop and fall downward, decreasing the distance between the upper eyelid and the eyebrows. In addition, a low brow position can add weight to the upper eyelid. In severe cases, it can encroach on the eyelid space, Dr. Schwarcz shares. There are both in-office and at-home solutions to address this:

### **Botox Brow Lift**
One of the best ways to give a visible – albeit temporary – lift to the brows is with the so-called [Botox brow lift](https://aedit.com/procedure/chemical-brow-lift). It involves injecting small amounts of neuromodulators (read: Botox®, [Dysport®](https://aedit.com/procedure/dysportr), [Jeuveau®](https://aedit.com/procedure/jeuveau), or [Xeomin®](https://aedit.com/procedure/xeomin)) to improve the position of the brows for three to four months at a time. To further complement newly lifted arches, many doctors inject the crow's feet and glabellar lines that form at the outer corners and in between the eyes to smooth the skin and make everything in the area appear refreshed and youthful. Keep in mind that using neuromodulators to lift the brow won’t do anything to address loose skin. 

### **Thread Lift**
The Botox brow lift is effective for achieving some lifting and shaping but is less dramatic than other options, like a [thread lift](https://aedit.com/procedure/thread-lift), Dr. Few notes. Thread lift procedures are pretty much downtime-free – save for some minor swelling – and involve placing absorbable sutures for an instant and long-term (they stimulate collagen over the coming months) lift in those with mild brow and eyelid sagging. “The threads go underneath the skin's surface to gently lift the area via small hooks that grab and hold the skin in place,” Dr. Lamb explains. Threads can also benefit those who are beginning to notice a ‘heavy’ forehead and drooping eyes and desire a little refresher before surgery down the line. 

Precise placement of threads can help hoist the outer part of the brow, making the outer corners of the eyes appear more lifted. “I like to use threads in an upside-down ‘U’ configuration going up to the hairline to lift the outer corner of the outer third of the brow,” Dr. Few says.  As he explains, this technique helps remove unwanted hooding of the upper eyelid while gently elevating the outer corner of the eye and brow. In these cases, neurotoxin injections are necessary to relax the forehead muscles and reap the full benefits of the threads. “Otherwise, the threads will pull through the tissue and cause the brow to drop again,” he notes.

Doctors can also use threads to tweak the shape of the eyes, but it doesn't always need to result in the now-popular [fox eye look](https://aedit.com/aedition/canthoplasty-canthopexy-eyelid-surgery-for-fox-eye-trend), a term that Dr. Few coined years ago during a lecture. “The goal should not be a hyper-elevated, unnaturally appearing cat look, but rather a natural elevation that enhances the appearance of the brow and upper eyelid,” he says. “The threads should create a pleasing appearance while being more exotic in a younger person and restoring natural positioning in someone experiencing age-related changes.” This is why selecting the right provider to perform the procedure is of the utmost importance — you want their before and after results and overall aesthetic to match the look you are trying to achieve. 

Keep in mind that while threads can provide some improvement, the skin in the brow and upper eyelid area is sensitive and thin. During the first few days, it may look pleated or bunched up due to overcorrection. “Surgery is the gold standard and would be my first choice for anyone wanting a predictable, long-lasting result,” Dr. Few says. Non-surgical solutions, like the combination of threads and neuromodulators, last about six to 12 months and require maintenance to retain the results. Since the benefits are relatively temporary, it’s essential to have realistic expectations and understand what threads can and cannot fix, Dr. Lamb says.

### **Makeup**
Brow powders and pencils can be just as important as doctor-administered treatments. With age, the brow hairs tend to become patchy and thin, and their once-crisp arch melts into an unorganized silhouette. Yet, redefining the arch with expert shaping ([check out our tips for how to shape your brows at home](https://aedit.com/aedition/how-to-shape-tweeze-define-eyebrows-at-home)) and filling them in with a good brow product ([we’ve rounded up the best powders, pomades, pencils, and gels](https://aedit.com/aedition/best-eyebrow-pomades-powders-pencils-gels-tools)) can make a significant difference. “The eyebrows lend structure to the face and frame the eyes, and, when properly filled in, they can create the effect of a brow lift," says Dani Kimiko Vincent, a celebrity makeup and brow artist and founder of [KIMIKO](https://go.skimresources.com?id=170670X1638612&xs=1&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2Furl%3Fq%3Dhttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.kimikobeauty.com%2F%26sa%3DD%26source%3Ddocs%26ust%3D1649198110615954%26usg%3DAOvVaw3AG3e_Yk13aNbSFMC5ngPD). 

To create the illusion of a more lifted brow, start by filling in the upper outer arch instead of the front of the brows. “This will concentrate the filling in the area that lifts the brows and draws them up and outwards for a more open eye,” Kimiko Vincent explains. Avoid drawing down at the end of the brow. “You’ll want to keep the front of the eyebrows light and always feather the product through with a spoolie brush to blend and soften,” she shares. ## **4. Use the Right Eye Makeup**
Applying the right eye makeup – using appropriate colors and proper technique – adds visible contrast and draws attention to the eyes. Everyone's eye shape is unique and, while there are specific ways to enhance different shapes, this basic principle always applies: bring light forward and recede what's dark, Kimiko Vincent says. Similarly, using liner and mascara to [lift the eyes](https://aedit.com/aedition/face-lifting-sculpting-makeup-tips) is a universal solution.

When using makeup to enhance the eyes and make them look more youthful, Kimiko Vincent says to concentrate darker shadows on the lash line and towards the outer sections of the lid. “Sometimes, I contour with shadow to help the eyes appear more doe-eyed and, when necessary, I'll use a lighter shade of shadow on the lid so that they don't appear as sunken,” she shares. One thing to be aware of is mixing crepey skin with shimmery shadows, which has the potential to accentuate laxity. If a sagging upper lid is bothersome, focus on using darker shadows and placing them on the upper, outer portions of the eyelids. “From there, use lighter colors in the inner and middle sections of the lids,” Kimiko Vincent explains. She also recommends applying eyeliner on just the top lid and keeping the liner's tail (the end) lifted.

The classic cat eye is a favorite for creating a lifted outer corner. To do it, Kimiko Vincent recommends using liquid liner, pencil liner, or a deep eyeshadow and a smudger brush or tool. “A kitten eye starts from the center outwards and is slimmer than a traditional cat eye,” she explains. “You can subtly extend the inner corners with eyeliner to add a more feline eye shape.” Shadows are also helpful in contouring the eyes. Again, keep the darker tones towards the outer portion of the lid and concentrate mascara on the outer portion to draw the eye shape up and out.

Speaking of mascara, don't forget about the lashes. Kimiko Vincent says to curl the eyelashes first because “the eyes always benefit from a lift.” It makes them “appear instantly more youthful,” she adds. Before [swiping on mascara](https://aedit.com/aedition/mascara-tips-from-celebrity-makeup-artists), layer on a lash primer for extra volume and staying power. Then, coat the lashes with a volume and lengthening formula. Kimiko Vincent says to focus on lifting the lashes while sweeping on the mascara, paying extra attention to the outer corners of the eyes.

As the saying goes, the eyes are the windows to the soul. And, sometimes, these windows can be overrun by heavy upper lids, baggy lower eyelids, or even low-hanging brows that impede the appearance of an awake, youthful-looking eye. With so many potential changes affecting the eye area, how is one to know if they need a [blepharoplasty](https://aedit.com/procedure/blepharoplasty-eyelid-surgery) (a.k.a. eyelid lift), a [brow lift](https://aedit.com/procedure/brow-lift-forehead-lift-browplasty), or [both](https://aedit.com/aedition/combining-blepharoplasty-and-brow-lift)? We tapped into four plastic surgeons for their insight on choosing the right surgery.

## **Age-Related Eye Changes**
The [aging eye](https://aedit.com/concern/aging-and-tired-eyes) can be difficult to navigate since there are various changes the area experiences. Like no two bodies are the same, neither are any two sets of eyes. But, for the most part, the relative transformation that most of us tend to notice to the eyes and the surrounding area include:

- **Saggy Skin**: The eyes boast perhaps the [thinnest skin](https://aedit.com/aedition/how-to-treat-the-skin-around-the-eyes-with-skincare-and-non-surgical-cosmetic-procedures) on the entire face, which is why they are often one of the first areas — if not the first — to show their age. Both the upper and lower eyelid skin can transform from firm and elastic to crepey, stretched out, and sagging.
- **Under-Eye Bags**: Not everyone experiences bulging bags, but, if they surface, it's usually from a weakening of the muscles and tendons coupled with displaced, protruding fat. 
- **Fat**: In some, there are signs of fat loss and a hollowing of the under-eye area; in others, fat becomes displaced and begins to protrude from the lower eyelids causing bags to form.
- **Fine Lines & Wrinkles**: With changes to the quality of the skin come finely etched in lines and wrinkles around the eyes (i.e. crow’s feet), underneath them, and on the upper eyelids. Sun exposure, lifestyle choices, and inherently thin skin are all to blame.

Plastic surgeons don't follow a one-size-fits-all method to correct the eyes. Since the cause of aging in the region is multifactorial, your surgeon must tailor the solutions to address the issues at hand. For instance, if someone has excess skin, the skin has to be dealt with, says [Steven Williams, MD](http://trivalleyplasticsurgery.com/), a board certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon in Dublin, CA, and the vice president of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons ([ASPS](https://www.plasticsurgery.org/)). On the other hand, if there is fat atrophy, it should not be glossed over. “Without addressing each of these issues specifically, you will get incomplete results or unsatisfactory results,” he shares. 

Although a brow lift and blepharoplasty both tackle age-related concerns on the upper third of the face, they address different facial features. As Dr. Williams explains, blepharoplasty helps correct loose lid skin on the upper and/or lower lid and periorbital fat. A [brow lift](https://aedit.com/aedition/guide-to-surgical-and-non-invasive-brow-lift-procedures), meanwhile, repositions the eyebrow and the skin of the forehead. “The brow is influenced by the frontalis muscle, a very thick, strong muscle, while much weaker muscles influence eyelids,” he notes.

## **Blepharoplasty, Brow Lift, or Both?**
Now that you know how age and gravity affect the eye area, it’s time to talk about how to [rejuvenate the region](https://aedit.com/aedition/cosmetic-procedures-for-under-eye-rejuvenation). As we’ve discussed, blepharoplasty can address skin and fat concerns on the upper and lower eyelids, while a brow lift can reposition the brow (which may have an effect on the upper lid) and target forehead skin laxity. These surgeries can be performed alone or in tandem depending on the patient and their aesthetic goals. Here’s what you need to know:

### **CHOOSE A BROW LIFT FOR EYEBROWS THAT APPEAR HEAVY**
Dr. Williams says people often see him for a blepharoplasty consultation only to find out they need a brow lift. “Patients that feel they need an eye lift may have heavy brows as well,” he explains. “Many times, Botox® can contribute to masking brow ptosis issues, which can contribute to the overall undesired look.”

A brow lift is likely redundant skin on the upper eyelids is an issue (unless the brows have fallen considerably). In comparison, a brow lift focuses on raising the brow area strictly when the drooping stems from changes to the brows themselves and the area right above them. A brow lift also corrects any feeling of heaviness, says [Robert Schwarcz, MD](https://www.naturalfacedr.com/contents/about-the-practice), a board certified reconstructive and oculoplastic surgeon in New York City.

Like so many other facial features, the brows can also ‘fall’ with time. Whenever a surgeon assesses a patient and checks their brow position, Dr. Schwarcz says the brows should ideally sit at the brow bone – not below it or encroaching on the eyelid space. When the brows sit lower on the face and closer to the upper eyelid than they should, they can block off a decent amount of real estate. 

Excess skin is just one of many reasons why it is crucial to evaluate the brow and upper eyelid together. “If the lateral brow is sagging, it contributes to sagging skin and fullness in the upper eyelid,” explains [Bob Basu, MD](https://aedit.com/provider/bob-basu-34656), a board certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon in Houston, TX. “A brow lift helps correct brow sagging and hooding to open up the entire eye.” If there is little space between the eyelid and the brow, a brow lift can open the eye area back up – likely without the need to remove as much upper eyelid skin.

A brow lift can be personalized for the patient. There are four different types of brow lifts that involve varying degrees of invasiveness (and scarring), and each one corrects a unique situation.

1. **[Coronal Brow Lift](https://aedit.com/procedure/coronal-brow-lift)**: This requires an incision from ear to ear (within the hairline) over the crown to remove excess skin and create more rejuvenated and lifted brows.
2. **[Endoscopic Brow Lift](https://aedit.com/procedure/endoscopic-brow-lift)**: Perhaps the most favored technique, this version is the least invasive surgical option and requires only a few small incisions.
3. **[Pretrichial Brow Lift](https://aedit.com/procedure/pretrichial-brow-lift)**: The hairline or trichophytic incision removes a small amount of skin as a way of elevating the eyebrows and is best suited for those with extremely high hairlines.
4. **[Direct Brow Lift](https://aedit.com/procedure/direct-brow-lift)**: Making an incision directly over the eyebrows can lower a high hairline, however, this technique does not always address the entire brow but rather only a portion of it.

To artfully perform a good brow lift, incisions are made so that the surgeon can go in either endoscopically or more traditionally to lift the muscles and raise the outer third of the brows. As a result, the eyebrows appear better positioned and regain a more natural shape, plus the forehead will appear smoother. By improving the positioning, the brows look less heavy and the eyes look more awake. 

But there is still a balancing act at play to achieve a natural result. “I always look at old photos to see if a patient always had low brows or did it change with aging,” Dr. Schwarcz says. “Not to complicate things, but in a small subset of the population – usually seen in very thin face patients – the brows can go up with age.” Furthermore, it's imperative not to overcorrect the brows when lifting them because that can make a person appear surprised. “Also, it’s important to be aware if someone has a hollow upper eyelid region, as this can be more exposed with a brow lift,” Dr. Schwarcz adds.

Preventatively, neuromodulators (i.e. the so-called [Botox brow lift](https://aedit.com/procedure/chemical-brow-lift)) can help maintain the arches. “[Recent data](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK574523/) proves that the frontalis muscle has a bi-directional pull on the skin of the face – both up and down,” Dr. Williams shares. “Botox may delay the need for a brow lift when used to treat that downward pull.” Even post-brow lift surgery, surgeons still may recommend neurotoxin injections to correct any wrinkles that crop up around the eyebrows, like between them (known as the glabellar lines or elevens) or right above them.

### **OPT FOR AN UPPER BLEPHAROPLASTY IF THE LIDS ARE HOODED**
A tired-looking eye can result from upper [eyelid hooding and loose skin](https://aedit.com/concern/sagging-and-hooded-eyelids) (independent of the brow). In some cases, a low-hanging lid can impede the eyes' ability to function correctly. The excess skin makes it hard to apply makeup and eye products and can even affect one's vision. In the case of the latter, insurance may [cover the cost](https://aedit.com/procedure/blepharoplasty-eyelid-surgery/cost) of treatment.

After speaking with an array of patients about their experience with the brow-defining treatment, the answer was a resounding yes. Everyone was smitten with their newly emphasized arches, and, across the board, the ‘regret’ (if you can call it that) was not trying microblading sooner.

For the uninitiated, [eyebrow microblading](https://aedit.com/procedure/microblading) is a semi-permanent makeup technique that creates the illusion of fuller, more defined brows. It involves using a cosmetic tattoo pen to make small incisions that deposit pigment into the skin in hair-like strokes that mimic the natural brow. Unlike regular tattoos, microblading is considered ‘semi-permanent’ because it only penetrates the superficial layers of skin. Results typically fade over the course of one to three years, depending on a myriad of factors.

Waking up to expertly manicured brows every morning is a dream come true for many, and microblading can offer that. Even so, a positive outcome is not a given. As with any aesthetic treatment or procedure, you need to do the proper research, establish you are a candidate, and find the right provider. ## **1. Microblading Isn’t for Everyone**
Let’s not forget that microblading is a semi-permanent face tattoo. Just like traditional tattoos aren’t for everyone, neither is microblading. ## **2. Microblading Is an Art**

It’s a multifactorial process that includes vetting training, credentials, and experience (more on that below) *and* finding someone that shares your aesthetic. Like aesthetic medicine, microblading is an art form. Each cosmetic tattoo artist will have their own unique style and technique. With that in mind, “one of the most important things to look for in a microblading artist is a body of work that you love,” Otsuji says. 

This will require you to be clear about your style, too. “If you prefer clean, sharp, defined brows, choose an artist who specializes in this style,” she explains. “If you are a fan of big, fluffy, natural-looking brows, be sure to go with someone who is skilled in this technique.” Kapil agrees. “If you want natural brows, make your artist aware of it,” she says. “If you want the ‘makeup’ look, let them know.” The treatment can usually be catered to your preferences. “Oftentimes, we dilute the ink for a softer look,” Kapil notes. “For the makeup look, we won't dilute it.”

This is not the time to skip the research step. Otsuji recommends looking at many artists' portfolios before deciding on someone – and not just any [before and after photo](https://aedit.com/aedition/importance-of-before-and-after-photos-in-plastic-surgery) will do. “Check their portfolio for healed brow pics,” Kapil says. “Everything looks great right away, but, in three weeks, we know the actual truth.” You can also read client testimonials and reviews. “This person will be tattooing your face, so it is important to choose someone who you admire and trust,” Otsuji emphasizes. 

## **3. Credentials & Experience Matters**
So, you’ve found a microblading artist whose aesthetic you love. What’s next? “It's important to [research the studio and artist](https://aedit.com/aedition/expert-guide-to-permanent-makeup-cosmetic-tattoo-microblading) you will be seeing so that you are familiar and comfortable with their tattoo style and level of expertise,” Otsuji shares. As she explains, artists should be skill certified, health certified, insured, and licensed as per their city or county's requirements. Health board regulations and tattoo licensing requirements are readily available to the public. Furthermore, “make sure your artist has received adequate skill training as well as sterile procedures and blood borne pathogens training appropriate to their area,” she adds.

Specialization also matters. “Just like in traditional tattooing, cosmetic tattoo artists will each have different styles and techniques that they specialize in,” Otsuji says. Needless to say, the techniques in their repertoire should factor into your decision. “It's good to know in depth what technique they are good with,” Kapil explains. “Some people are experts in microblading, while others are experts in powder.” 
 
From there, it’s all about experience. “The artist's tattoo experience is helpful information to know,” Otsuji notes. “The more clients they have worked with, the more variety of skin types and concerns they have dealt with.” This expertise doesn’t happen overnight. “It takes many years for any tattoo artist to master every skin type,” she says. “So, if you are concerned if microblading is right for you, reach out to an experienced professional for a consultation first.”

During a consultation, Kapil says you can also learn what type of ink they use, their preferred needle size, and how topical anesthetics factor into treatment. It’ll also give you a better sense of bedside manner. “It’s also a personality thing,” she shares. “It’s always a nice idea to look for pleasant personalities because the mapping part requires lots of patience.” 

## **4. Plan Ahead to Maximize Microblading Results**
You’ve determined your a candidate for [microblading](https://aedit.com/procedure/microblading/cost), found the perfect provider, and either booked your appointment or are getting ready to – congratulations! In order to have the smoothest experience and get the best results, there are a few things you can do ahead of time to prepare:

- **Stay Hydrated**: “It is recommended to stay hydrated and avoid alcohol, too much caffeine, and blood thinners prior to your appointment,” Otsuji says. 
- **Schedule Strategically**: Kapil says it is best to avoid Botox®, laser treatments, and trips to the sauna prior to your microblading treatment.

- **Factor in a Follow-Up**: “After six to eight weeks, a second session or touch-up appointment can be done to build the brow's density further and add more pigment to areas if needed,” Otsuji notes.

## **5. Final Results Take Time**
Microblading results are not immediate, so make sure you build the healing process into your timeline — especially if you are planning to debut your new brows at a special event. Healing can take anywhere from four to six weeks, during which you may experience minor redness and swelling (particularly in the first 48 hours). “It is important to frequently blot away any excess moisture, oil, and lymph fluid that builds up in the brow area to prevent too much scabbing,” Otsuji explains. “Mild dryness and peeling will occur, but it is essential that you do not pick or scratch the area during this time.” 

Another tip? Don’t plan to head from your microblading appointment to the beach. Otsuji says to avoid sweating, swimming, suntanning, saunas, and steam rooms for two weeks while the microblading heals and settles into the skin. “Excess moisture to the area can cause premature pigment loss and undesirable results,” she cautions. 

At the end of the day, a bit of patience is key. “Go in with the understanding that it will take two weeks to heal and will go through its phases,” Kapil says. “And don’t forget the touch up!”

Maybe it’s due to the fact that I’m filled with immense joy when I perfect my arch, or maybe it’s due to the time I went to a waxer and ended up with swollen brows. Either way, it’s become second nature for me to shape and fill in my brows from the comfort of my own home.

It has, however, taken some trial and error to develop my routine — and I’ve picked up some pointers along the way. And, because you can never have too many brow-shaping tips, I also reached out to some industry insiders for their own tricks and recommendations. The result? This definitive guide to shaping, defining, and crafting your brows from home. Here’s what you need to know. 

## **The Tools of the Trade**
While everyone has their personal favorite(s) when it comes to brow products, there are some styling and shaping tools that are considered staples for any kit:

Now that you have the right tools, it’s time to break down the process of shaping and defining. Below is an expert-approved, four-step plan for pro-level brows:

### **1. Find Your Light**
The first step for doing your brows at home? Find good lighting. “Great lighting is key, as it will ensure maximum visibility,” explains celebrity makeup artist [Melissa Hernandez](https://www.instagram.com/melissa.hernandez/?hl=en). “Make sure to position yourself somewhere with bright, natural lighting.” Once you’ve found the perfect spot, she suggests beginning the shaping process by brushing your brow hair in an upward direction and trimming straight across along the top line of your brow. “Focusing on hairs that are growing past your desired shape,” she says. From there, she recommends tweezing any stray bits in the direction of hair growth “because it will help prevent inflammation and potential scarring.”

### **2. Pick Your Product**
Next, you’ll want to pick the right product to define and fill-in your brows. Celebrity makeup artist [Sandy Linter](https://www.instagram.com/sandylinter/?hl=en) says that she looks at brow texture to determine which product to use. Her tips:

- Use a **brow gel** if your brows are unruly
- Try a **brow pomade** for lifeless arches
- **Brow powders** are great for adding color

I personally tend to use a pencil to define the lower part of my brow and the tail, and then I switch to a pomade to fill it all in.

Now that you have your product(s) in hand, you’ll want to define your brows — including those tricky arches. “The trick to defining your brows and enhancing your overall eye look is to measure from the outer edge of your nostril up to the highest point of your eyebrow at an angle,” Murray explains. “Mark that point with a pencil — it’s where your arch is.” While your brows naturally have their own arch, you can manipulate the shape. “You can customize your arch based on how much you pluck underneath the peak of the arch,” she says. But tread carefully when removing hairs. “Tweezing one to two brow hairs at a time is the best way to achieve the desired arch, instead of creating too thin of an arch,” Murray notes. This is an especially useful tip for those who have been working on growing fuller brows. As for the tail, many people fail to go far enough with their product. The end of your brow should line up with the outer edge of your nose.

### **4. Touch Them Up**
Now that you’ve shaped and defined your brows, use concealer to clean up any mistakes. If you’re going for a natural look, use a concealer that’s one shade lighter than your skin tone. If you fancy an Instagram guru-level look, I recommend using one that’s two shades lighter. The contrast creates a really defined silhouette. Underneath your brow, line the full length with concealer. For the top of the brow, concentrate the coverup on just the outer half, then blend.

## **Insider Tips for At-Home Brow Shaping**
At this point, I hope you’re feeling more confident and ready to take on at-home brow shaping. If you have any lingering reservations, our pros offer these tips:

1. **Avoid Magnifying Mirrors**:  The number one mistake brow newbies make when shaping their arches at home? Overplucking. “Magnifying mirrors often emphasize brow hairs that should be left alone,” Hernandez says. Instead, opt for a regular mirror and remember less is more.

When you hear the phrase ‘face tattoo,’ what comes to mind? Post Malone, perhaps? Chances are, you’re not thinking about *Girls* creator Lena Dunham or Oscar-winner Helen Mirren, both of whom have been public about their life-changing experiences with microblading — one of many trending facial tattoo procedures.

Commonly referred to as permanent makeup, cosmetic tattooing, and/or micropigmentation, modern techniques have transformed the inconsistent results of the 1980s and 1990s into a subtler, natural look that’s captured the attention of celebrities and beauty savvy civilians alike. We talked to two of the foremost experts in the field — Yelena Nesterenko and [Dominique Bossavy](https://www.dominiquebossavy.com/) — to learn everything there is to know about permanent makeup.

## **Modern Cosmetic Tattooing Techniques**
For most of the twentieth century, artists used the same tattooing techniques to create both decorative tattoos (think: forearm snakes and broken hearts) and permanent makeup. Problem was, depositing pigments deep into the skin often created harsh-looking results that faded and turned fuzzy over time.

Over the last few decades, permanent makeup artists have been perfecting an updated approach that combines reformulated pigments with finer blades and a superficial application technique to create a more natural-looking (and temporary) result. This is why today’s cosmetic tattooing is usually referred to as ‘semi-permanent makeup.’

Nesterenko, a Russian-born engineer and artist who has been a permanent makeup technician for nearly three decades, explains that the industry really changed in the early 2000s when new technology emerged. “An American company called [SofTap](https://www.softaps.com/) came on the market with very fine-hand tools for microblading that allowed me to give my clients more precise, natural results,” she says.

## **How Long Does Permanent Makeup Last?**
The longevity of today’s cosmetic tattoos varies, but most estimates put the duration of results anywhere between one and three years (hence, why ‘semi-permanent’ is the more accurate moniker). Everyone’s body metabolizes pigment differently, and, since the ink is placed very close to the skin’s surface, it also sloughs away in time. As a result, routine touch ups are required.

You might be wondering: Can the color change over time? Or what if it fades out unevenly? “This was a big issue I personally experienced when my lip liner turned black,” Bossavy shares. “It was horrific as a young girl in Paris, which is what got me into this business.” In an effort to understand what happened, Bossavy ended up developing her own NanoColor Infusion™ line of natural, organic pigments that are specially formulated to break down consistently and evenly.

## **How to Find a Qualified Permanent Makeup Technician**
In addition to proper training, it is also important to find a professional who shares your aesthetic vision. “I see a lot of technicians who train to do microblading for the money,” Nesterenko says. “But they are not artists. They don’t understand what will look best on their clients.” Bossavy agrees. “Pigment and tools are only one part of an artist’s work,” she says. “Just like you never select a plastic surgeon solely based on his laser devices or lipo machinery, you are buying into an aesthetic and an artistry or a technique.”  

Finding a well-qualified technician can be tricky since requirements vary from state to state. While most receive a certificate of training, not all training programs are alike. To further confuse matters, most states regulate the practice under ‘artistic tattoos,’ which means licensing requirements can be inconsistent at best and even non-existent at worst.

Here’s a checklist to help you get started in your search for a permanent makeup technician:

- **Ask about training, certification(s) and license(s).** Don’t solely rely on a framed piece of paper. Nesterenko says that it’s not enough for a tech to take a certification class and call it a day. “Every client educates me and makes me better,” she explains. “I learn from them, but I also never stop reading and doing research.”
- **Research the salon.** Third party review sites (like Google and Yelp), along with a pre-procedure visit, can tell you a lot about the potential calibre of work. Some technicians, like Nesterenko, work exclusively in the clinics of dermatologists and plastic surgeons — a great sign that they know their stuff. If a technician has one or more frequently booked locations, like Bossavy with clinics in New York, Los Angeles, and Paris, that’s another plus.
- **Talk to other clients.** Word of mouth drives much of the permanent makeup business. “My work is my advertising,” says Nesterenko. If the clientele includes satisfied customers who were botched elsewhere, even better. A technician known for correcting the work of less experienced technicians (like both of our experts) is often a safe bet.
- **Check out before and after photos.** Before and after photos aren’t just for plastic surgeons and cosmetic dermatologists, and our experts caution people to look critically. “People see a beautiful model with her eyebrows done, and they think they will look like that,” Nesterenko says. “But they need to look at pictures of people with similar features to know what will work best for them.” 

When in doubt, Nesterenko recommends people find a technician with knowledge and experience working with clients who share their ethnicity, since it plays such an important role in how your skin will react to different techniques and pigments.

## **How to Prepare for Permanent Makeup**
Any reputable dermal pigmentation expert will take the time to determine if you are the right candidate for your desired procedure. For our experts, that means an extensive consultation two weeks prior to your appointment. “I ask them all kinds of questions about their medical history, what kinds of medications and supplements they’re taking,” Nesterenko explains. “There are so many things that can affect healing and results, like the acidity of your blood and the oiliness of your skin.” Vitamins, supplements, and medications (think: fish oil, turmeric, [Accutane](https://aedit.com/procedure/accutane)) can all impact the process, so don’t skip any disclosures.

If you’re allergy prone, your technician will need to take additional precautions. Typically this involves a patch test a few days before your appointment. A tiny amount of pigment is applied in an inconspicuous spot to determine whether the client can tolerate the dye. Red dye, which is (obviously) used for lip enhancement but also frequently added to eyeliner and brow pigments, is most likely to cause adverse reactions.

### **Who is not a good candidate for permanent makeup**
Those who are allergic to any of the substances used during the process — from numbing agents to pigments — should avoid permanent makeup. Clients who can’t take a break from blood thinning medications or those who have problems with blood clotting or healing can’t get cosmetic tattoos. “Someone who scars poorly or has a tendency to keloid is not a good candidate for this procedure,” Bossavy says. People with compromised immune systems are not well-suited either.

Since hormonal changes can affect the healing process, pregnant women are generally advised against getting permanent makeup. Additionally, Nesterenko says that younger patients may want to wait before having any permanent makeup procedure. “I prefer not to work with very young women because this is going to be with them for the rest of their lives,” she says. “They need to be sure.” Nesterenko also points out that those planning to have cosmetic surgery need to be mindful of their dermal pigmentation choices, as surgery can alter the shape of a tattoo.

## **Can Permanent Makeup Be Removed?**
The short answer? Sometimes. Depending on how long you’ve had it, there are options for both accelerating the fading process and getting rid of the pigment altogether — though there are no guarantees.

1. **Wait**: If you’re unhappy with your immediate results, remember that the pigments will settle in time. Your cosmetic tattoo will begin fading as soon as it’s healed, and it will continue to fade over subsequent months and years. 
2. **Sweat**: Tattoos that are brand new will fade if you don’t follow the proper aftercare protocol. Swimming in salt water, sweating during exercise, and sitting in a sauna will all jump start the fading process.
3. **Slather**: Topical creams and solutions claiming to fade tattoos are abundant online but beware. These products are largely unregulated, which means that they may be ineffective at best and damaging at worst. Simple skin exfoliants have been shown to safely accelerate tattoo fading, but check ingredient lists and avoid bleaching agents like trichloroacetic acid (TCA).
4. **Seek Professional Help**: Sometimes, permanent makeup can be removed by a technician who injects a saline solution into the skin to draw out the pigment. This process can take multiple sessions. 

“If a patient does not want to maintain the brow or area with color, it should be reversible,” Bossavy says, adding that one common form of tattoo removal is not suitable for micropigmentation. “Do not attempt to have the area lasered, as it may cause further damage,” she cautions. “Depending on the pigment used, it can turn it darker or even black.”

Look no further than your favorite '90s sitcom to see just how dramatically eyebrow trends have changed over the years. From pencil thin arches to bushy brows, what constitutes the ‘ideal’ eyebrow is constantly evolving. Recent years have seen the advent of a full, yet manicured brow aesthetic, and temporary and semi-permanent treatments like [brow lamination](https://aedit.com/aedition/brow-lamination-vs-microblading-for-fuller-eyebrows) and [microblading](https://aedit.com/aedition/microblading-treatments-for-fuller-thicker-eyebrows) have emerged to add volume and shape. But what if you are looking for a more permanent solution to enhance your brow shape and size? Enter: the eyebrow transplant.

## **What Are Eyebrow Transplants, Exactly?** 
Much like a traditional hair transplant, an eyebrow transplant is a permanent, surgical procedure in which hair is taken from a donor site (think: the back of the head) and reharvested. In this case, it is transplanted to the eyebrow area, and there are two hair restoration methods to choose from: 

- **[Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE)](https://aedit.com/procedure/follicular-unit-extraction-fue)**: This option involves transplanting individual hairs from a donor site using manual punch, [powered punch](https://aedit.com/procedure/neograft), or [robotic punch](https://aedit.com/procedure/artas-robotic-hair-transplant) technique. Advantages include the lack of a linear scar and ease of recovery, though the extraction time is longer and the shorter hairs can affect the quality of the transplant. 
- **[Follicular Unit Transplant (FUT)](https://aedit.com/procedure/strip-harvesting)**: A strip of hair (usually from the back of the head) is excised and the hair follicles are transplanted to form the new and improved eyebrow shape. The excision process is faster than FUE and the harvested hairs are longer, which may help during planting (the length allows you to see the curl of the hair). If the patient plans to wear his or her hair short in the back of the head, he will likely recommend FUE, as FUT can leave a visible scar.

## **Ideal Candidate for Eyebrow Transplant**
Generally speaking, there are two groups of patients who are interested in an eyebrow hair transplant: 

1. Those who have had hair loss from over-plucking or trauma (i.e. laser hair removal, scarring)
2. Those who have thin eyebrows naturally or as the result of a medical condition, like hypothyroidism

“Many patients — both men and women — have experienced the effects of over-plucking, undesirable tattoos, or just want fuller eyebrows,” says [Gary Linkov, MD](https://aedit.com/provider/gary-linkov-md-6976), a board certified facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon in New York City. “As this treatment type becomes more mainstream, there has been an increase in popularity.”

While the demographics are broad, patients must have enough donor hair to harvest and transplant. “The ideal candidate has a need for more eyebrow hair and has good matching hair that can be used to donate,” Dr. Paul explains. “These hairs are taken often from the back of the head/nape of the neck. So, if someone has dark brown hair in the scalp and blonde eyebrows, this will not be a fit.”

It is also important to remember that there will be maintenance involved with transplanted brows. “The donor hair does not become eyebrow hair after transplant — the donor hair keeps its genetics and growth habits,” Dr. Paul says, adding that the detail is “crucial” to understand. As such, patients should know that the transplanted hair will grow and require regular trimming. “This continual maintenance is why eyebrow transplant is not for everyone,” he warns.

## **The Eyebrow Transplant Process**
Before undergoing the cosmetic surgery, patients should meet with their provider for a [consultation](https://aedit.com/aedition/questions-to-ask-your-doctor-during-plastic-surgery-consultation). During this time, the patient can show photos of what they are hoping to look like and their board certified provider can draw an outline of the eyebrows to confirm shape. “The results from eyebrow transplant vary widely depending on the amount transferred, the skill of the surgeon, and the nature of the hair itself,” Dr. Paul explains. 

When it comes to the procedure itself, step one involves extracting the hair. Depending on the extraction method, patients will either lay on their stomach or sit upright. “Once the grafts are removed, you will then turn onto your back to allow for recipient site creation and the placement of the grafts,” Dr. Linkov says. “The overall process may take a few hours for smaller cases, up to six hours for larger cases.”

Regardless of whether a patient is undergoing FUE or FUT, [Dr. Linkov says](https://cityfacialplastics.com/eyebrow-transplant/) anywhere from 100 to 350 grafts are used per eyebrow. Once the hair is removed, it is processed into 1-hair and 2-hair grafts because “thicker grafts can cause an unnatural appearance when implanted,” he shares, adding that, when density is needed, 3-hair grafts may also be used.

Once the eyebrow is numb, the recipient sites are made. Dr. Linkov says the acuteness of these sites is vital to ensuring the new eyebrow hair grows naturally (i.e. not straight out of the skin in what he calls a “perpendicular way”). Once the sites are made, the hairs are meticulously placed and oriented so the curl of the hair faces down. 

“Skilled surgeons make sure the angle and direction of hair exit is carefully planned,” Dr. Paul confirms. “Eyebrow hair exits at roughly 15 degrees from the skin. This angle must be respected or the hairs could grow outward at a very unnatural angle. Patients with curly hair may have this difficulty.”

## **Eyebrow Transplant Recovery & Results**
Bleeding, swelling, and bruising are all possible side effects in the aftermath of an eyebrow transplant. When it comes the recovery process, there is one crucial post-op rule to follow: don't get your new brows wet. “The most important precaution in the recovery phase of an eyebrow transplant is not to get the transplanted hairs wet for the first five days,” Dr. Linkov says. “This allows them to set in the proper orientation and to eventually grow.” 

At around the three-week mark, Dr. Linkov says patients can expect the shafts of the transplanted hairs to fall out. From there, regrowth usually begin four to six months after the procedure, with final results assessed at one year. 

Since transplanted eyebrows grow more quickly than natural brow hair, many patients find themselves trimming their new arches two to three times a month (or as needed). Brow gel, meanwhile, may help to train the hair to grow in the intended direction.

Both Dr. Linkov and Dr. Paul agree that transplant patients may benefit from [microblading](https://aedit.com/procedure/microblading) to futher improve and refine the shading and shaping. In terms of timing, Dr. Linkov says the semi-permanent treatment should either be performed at least two months *before* the transplant or a minumum of nine months after.

While pencil-thin arches were all the rage in early ‘90s and a fuller, bushier brow has returned in recent years, the current trend is less about size and more about shape.

A scroll through your Instagram feed will likely show a growing group of influencers and models embracing a wide-eyed look that’s just a hair short of ‘surprised.’ So, what’s behind the eyebrow-raising aesthetic? “Currently, brow lifts are extremely popular amongst younger women,” says [Kian Karimi, MD](https://aedit.com/provider/kian-karimi-md-17458), a board certified facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon based in Los Angeles. “The brow beauty standards have changed a bit because some public figures such as Bella Hadid and Emily Ratajkowski have been showing very heightened, almost exaggerated brows and this has become extremely popular.”

Many reports recommend the so-called ‘[Botox® Brow Lift](https://aedit.com/procedure/chemical-brow-lift)’ to achieve the stars' major arch emphasis, injections aren’t the only way to change the shape of the brow. Here, The AEDITION breaks down the surgical and non-surgical brow shaping solutions that are currently trending.

## **Non-Surgical and Surgical Brow Lift Techniques**
As with everything in aesthetic medicine, there is no such thing as one size fits all. In the case of brow lifts, there are a trio of techniques for patients to consider depending on their needs and desired result. “There are three main methods for elevating the brows: Botox® injections, thread lifts, and surgical lifts, which can be traditional or endoscopic (i.e. performed in conjunction with a tiny camera),” says [Jason Roostaenian, MD](https://aedit.com/provider/jason-roostaeian-md-449), a board certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon at UCLA. “The modality a surgeon chooses will depend on each patient’s anatomy and goals, as well as the practitioner’s personal preference and skill set.”

### **The Botox Brow Lift**
“Botox® has been the traditional way we’ve been able to accomplish brow lifts in the office,” Dr. Kian shares. “By injecting Botox® in the muscles that pull the tail of the eyebrow down, we are able to enjoy elevation of the brow. This is a really great way to get two to three millimeters of elevation of the brow, which is typically all someone needs.”

As he explains it, neurotoxin injections work best for a patient who experiences brow drooping and crow’s feet around the eyes when they smile. Like most [Botox® treatments](https://aedit.com/aedition/comparing-neurotoxin-botulinum-type-a-injections-botox-dysport-jeuveau-xeomin), the results take about five to seven days to kick in and last three to four months. Comparatively speaking, injections are the most budget-friendly brow lift option (they typically cost a few hundred dollars, depending on the practice), though they require regular maintenance.

### **Thread Brow Lifts**
Given the recent rise of minimally invasive thread lifts for the face, it should come as no surprise that the technique is being considered for eyebrows, too. “A thread brow lift is a very popular, trending procedure,” Dr. Kian says. “A dissolvable thread — like a [PDO thread](https://aedit.com/procedure/pdo-thread-lift) — is used to elevate the tail of the brow to achieve an exaggerated brow look.”  

While the procedure delivers a more pronounced lift than can be achieved with Botox® alone, Dr. Kian warns that it does not last very long and can yield an unnatural result. “I’ve seen cases where the far tail of the brow is elevated, and it kind of gives the brow an unnatural appearance and loses its natural arch,” he explains. “The lift itself won’t last very long because these threads are very thin, and they aren’t fixated on any tissues. The results could last maybe a month at the maximum.”

As such, Dr. Kian doesn’t recommend the procedure on its own. “I don’t think it looks that good,” he says. “The tissue in this area is quite thin, so the only type of threads you can use are thinner. I’ve seen thicker threads used, and it can lead to a lot of pain. The threads may even need to be removed.” The price of the thread lift depends on the provider, but it can cost anywhere from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars.
 
### **Surgical Brow Lifts**
For those seeking a longer lasting result, a surgical brow lift represents the most permanent option. “A surgical brow lift can be done many different ways, but most modern surgeons are using small incisions hidden within the hairline to completely release the brow and fixate it onto deeper tissues,” Dr. Kian explains, adding that the benefits typically last five to 10 years.

“There are a few surgical techniques that can lift the entire brow area, including a forehead lift and a [coronal brow lift](https://aedit.com/procedure/coronal-brow-lift),” Dr. Jason says. “But, anytime we’re talking about elevating the lateral brow, my preferred approach is a temporal brow lift. We make an incision hidden in the hairline and raise the underlying tissues to restore a more youthful appearance.”

Both providers agree that the surgery, which involves about a week of downtime, is an option for anyone who has drooping brows and is looking for a long-term correction. Dr. Jason notes that he has seen an influx of younger patients inquiring about brow lifts (a trend he attributes to social media), but it can also be performed to complement other facial rejuvenation procedures.

“Sometimes we do it in conjunction with a facelift, a blepharoplasty, and a bit of Botox® to soften the frown lines,” Dr. Jason says. “Anyone who’s experiencing lateral hooding — sagging of the tail that pushes the upper eyelid down — is a candidate for a surgical procedure. Though some people are wary of cosmetic surgery, it’s much longer lasting, economical, and less risky than repeated thread lifts, which can cause infection, pain, and scar tissue buildup.” [According to the American Society of Plastic Surgery (ASPS)](https://www.plasticsurgery.org/cosmetic-procedures/brow-lift/cost), the average cost of a surgical brow lift was $3,600 in 2018 — though it can be upwards of $10,000 depending on the provider.
 
## **So, What’s the Best Way to Achieve a High-Brow Look?**
As it turns out, the most effective brow lift choice may be a hybrid. “For our younger patients, we actually use a trifecta approach to the brow,” Dr. Kian says. “We like using Botox®, filler, and threads — but not the type of threads where it creates an unnatural appearance.”

As he explains it, many patients are dealing with a “deflated” tail of the brow, which is best treated with a combination of techniques. “If we put a little bit of filler into the tail — or into the temple, if it is hollow — we add support to the tail, providing the foundation of a good brow lift,” he says. “Then, we put smooth, dissolvable PDO threads above the brow. It’s not to artificially raise it, but to get some tightening above the brow, which will give a more natural elevation over time. Finally, the last thing we do is sprinkle a little Botox® into the muscle that pulls the tail of the brow down.”

While the results will not be as long lasting as a surgical brow lift, they will have longevity. “When all of these things are done together, it produces a natural, beautiful, and long lasting brow lift,” Dr. Kian shares.

## **The Takeaway**
It goes without saying that beauty trends come and go. The exaggerated arches that are ‘in’ today can be ‘out’ tomorrow. “We went through a period of time where lower brows were considered to be more attractive and natural. Now, the pendulum has shifted the other way,” Dr. Kian explains. “I do think this elevated brow phenomenon is more a fad than a new trend of beauty. I suspect that over time a slightly lowered brow will be preferred on the faces we find most beautiful.”

But, that’s not to say the brow lift doesn’t always serve a purpose. “As surgical brow lift techniques have improved, we’re able to provide our patients with a natural look that never goes out of style,” Dr. Jason says. At the end of the day, it’s about finding the best treatment option for your concerns and ideal aesthetic.
