About Tyler E. Nelson, DMD, MD
Dr. Tyler E. Nelson was born and raised in Napa, California. After graduating from Vintage High School, he went on to attend UC Davis where he played intercollegiate soccer while completing his Biological Science degree with an emphasis in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior. With the plan to pursue Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery as a career, he went to Harvard School of Dental Medicine where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2007. After dental school he married his college sweetheart, Jamie Nelson, and returned to the Bay Area to start his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at UCSF. He completed his medical school training as UC Davis and General Surgery internship at UCSF as well. Upon graduation in 2013, Dr. Nelson was blessed with a baby boy, Teaghan, who now keeps him busy at home. Aside from chasing his son around the house, he still enjoys playing soccer, hunting, fishing, camping, wood work, and photography. With his formal training behind him, Dr. Nelson can give you University level care without the need to leave our community. With special interest in implant surgery, bone grafting, soft-tissue grafting, trauma surgery, corrective jaw surgery, pathology, TMJ, and wisdom teeth removal, Dr. Nelson is prepared to take care of all of your needs.
