About Trang Q. Nguyen, MD
I am excited to be joining Kaiser Permanente's Oakland Medical Center as their new plastic and reconstructive surgeon. My parents, brothers, and I left Vietnam as boat people and Oakland is actually where we first stepped foot on American soil, as new refugees, over thirty years ago. This is a welcome homecoming of sorts after having spent most of my life in Boston, Chicago, and New York. I look forward to the opportunity to provide reconstructive surgery to the diverse and multicultural patient population of the East Bay. As a reconstructive plastic surgeon, I work with patients of all ages and we work together to do what plastic surgery is meant to do: repair, restore, and improve any injuries or abnormalities of the body. Plastic surgeons often work with other surgeons to help patients who need surgery for cancer, whether it be of the breast, the tissues of the leg or arm, or abdomen to do reconstruction following their cancer surgery.
