About Timothy J. Mcculley, MD
Timothy J. McCulley, M.D., is the vice chair for clinical strategic planning at the Wilmer Eye Institute, the director of one of Wilmer's ASOPRS oculoplastic fellowships and the chief of the neuro-ophthalmology division. He specializes in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the eyelids, orbit and tear drainage system and in neuro-ophthalmology. He has particular interests in orbital tumors, skin cancer of the eyelids, Graves’ Disease, droopy eyelids and optic nerve disorders. Dr. McCulley obtained his medical degree from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. Following internship at the University of Hawaii, he completed his residency in ophthalmology at Stanford University. After residency, he completed fellowship training in neuro-ophthalmology at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute and subsequently completed an American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery fellowship at the Cincinnati Eye Institute. Dr. McCulley served on the faculty of the University of California San Francisco, where he was director of ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery. He joined the Wilmer faculty in 2011 and spent two years as director of oculoplastic surgery at King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital (KKESH), Wilmer's affiliate hospital in Saudi Arabia, before returning to Maryland in January 2013.
