About Terri A. Zomerlei, MD
Terri A. Zomerlei, MD joined the Centre for Plastic Surgery in 2019 following her many years of medical experience, education and training. A West Michigan native, Dr. Zomerlei began her education at Calvin College and graduated with a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Biology. She went on to attain a Masters Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Grand Valley State University. After practicing as a PA in the field of General Surgery for several years, Dr. Zomerlei pursued her dream of practicing as a physician and attended Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. She excelled in her studies and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and was awarded the MSU College of Human Medicine Alumni Endowed Scholarship for Outstanding Commitment to Humanistic Medicine. After graduating MSU medical school at the top of her class, she moved to Columbus, Ohio in order to train and complete residency under the tutelage of world-renowned and exceptional plastic surgeons. During her 6 year surgical training program at The Ohio State University, Dr. Zomerlei honed her surgical skills in all aspects of both cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Zomerlei has developed a reputation for providing exceptional patient care and being a meticulous and conscientious surgeon. She has presented her work at multiple forums and national meetings and is an established author- having published numerous book chapters and articles. She recently published a book chapter on abdominoplasties and liposuction in Grabbe and Smith, the gold standard text in the field of plastic surgery. Dr. Zomerlei is an enthusiastic teacher who loves the opportunity to educate patients and residents alike. These wonderful qualities made joining the Centre for Plastic Surgery a natural and effortless next step in Dr. Zomerlei’s career. A self-proclaimed Lake Michigan aficionado, Dr. Z enjoys spending time at the lakeshore with her husband, daughters and lazy Great Danes.
