After completing his undergraduate Stanford degree, he was immediately recruited by the university’s Glenn Center for the Biology of Aging, an NIH and National Institute for Aging-funded research laboratory. This resulted in a renowned paper that addressed the results of aging and muscle stem cell regeneration, which was published in Science and kick-started Dr. Roy’s prolific author career. Dr. Roy continued his academic success by graduating top of his class at New York Medical College, where he was also elected to the Omega Alpha national medical honors society. His post-doctorate training includes a five-year surgical training in Otolaryngology (head and neck) surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, which is ranked as one of the top ten hospitals for this specialty by US News & World Report.
