About Steven S. Greenbaum, MD
Steven S. Greenbaum, M.D. was born and raised in the Philadelphia area. After graduating from the William Penn Charter School he enrolled at Haverford College. He went to Tulane Medical School in New Orleans then to Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan for his residency in dermatology. Following completion of his residency he did a fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery and dermatologic surgery at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Greenbaum was the director of dermatologic surgery at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia for nine years where he helped to establish the teaching curriculum in cutaneous surgery for the residency program. Dr. Greenbaum established the Skin & Laser Surgery Center of Pennsylvania in 1997. He became the director of a fellowship training program in Mohs micrographic surgery and dermatologic surgery and has been continuously involved in the training of medical students, residents and fellows. Dr. Greenbaum has published numerous articles and manuscripts in national and international medical journals and is the author of multiple text book chapters. He has been actively involved in dermatology organizations serving in various capacities of leadership. He was the scientific chairman for the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. He has lectured locally, nationally and internationally on many facets of dermatologic surgery and holds professorial positions in Dermatology and Head and Neck surgery. He has been named as a “Top Doctor” in Philadelphia for the past 20 years as well as one of the “Best Physicians in America” for Castle-Connolly America’s Top Doctor for the past consecutive 17 years.
