About Shirley Terry-Lopez, Aesthetician Specialist
Inspired by her passion for creating positive changes in people’s lives, Beyond Beaute’s founder and CEO, Shirley Terry-Lopez, began her beauty career as an image consultant and make-up artist in 1983. In 1986, Shirley opened a 1,200-square-foot facial salon in Deer Park, Texas, named Beyond Beaute Skin Care. She was not only the sole skin care specialist for two years, but the sole employee. With the goal of growing in her field, she began to partner with local dermatologists to resolve various skin care challenges that her clients faced. Shirley’s passion for health and wellness led her to study the science of longevity and diseases relating to stress, where she soon discovered how valuable the power of touch was in reducing those stressors and improving people’s overall quality of life. Over the next few years, she researched how the European spas used the holistic approach, such as massage and body treatments with natural seaweed and various minerals, to strengthen the body’s immune systems. It was then that she decided to expand her offerings to include wellness services and began adding qualified technicians who shared the same vision. In 1991, she opened her second location in the Clear Lake area and changed the name to Beyond Beaute Day Spa and Wellness Retreat. After 30 years in business, she’s still passionate about creating wellness and beautiful skin. Her company that began with just 1 technician has grown to be a family of over 50 long-term employees. Shirley’s outgoing personality and love for skin care has made her a popular guest speaker for various companies throughout the United State and England. Shirley also enjoys sharing her gifts with various charities, women’s shelters and non-profit organizations throughout Texas.
