About the Procedure
A lash lift is performed by a licensed cosmetologist or esthetician who has received special training for the treatment. Unlike eyelash extensions, lash lifts utilize the volume of natural eyelashes but enhance and define them by creating a custom curl for clients. During a lash lift only the top lashes will be curled. A protective barrier will be placed on top of the bottom lashes directly at the waterline to ensure none of the lashes are accidentally curled. Next, the area will be cleansed to remove any makeup, oil, dirt, or lotions that would inhibit the quality of the treatment. An eyelash glue will then be swiped onto your lids and a gel roller will be applied. The size of the roller will dictate the size of the curl of the lashes. Once the roller is in place, a glue will be applied to the lashes so they stick to the roller in a uniform, even layer. The curling solution will then be applied to the lashes, starting just above the root. After 10-15 minutes, the solution will be removed and a neutralizing formula will be applied. for an additional 10-15 minutes. The lashes will then be detached from the roller, the roller and protective pad for the lower lashes removed, and the area cleansed. A keratin based strengthening solution is then commonly applied to the newly curled lashes.
The goal of a lash lift is to improve eyelash volume and definition for a more refreshed, vibrant look to the eyes.
