About Sheila F. Friedlander, MD
Dr. Sheila Fallon Friedlander is Professor of Dermatology and Pediatrics at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine (UCSD), and Director of the Dermatology Fellowship Training Program at Rady Children's Hospital. Dr. Friedlander trained at the University of Chicago and UCLA Medical Center and is board certified in Pediatrics, and Dermatology, with sub-specialty certification in Pediatric Dermatology. She is a member of the Academy of Clinician Scholars at UCSD, past President of the Society for Pediatric Dermatology, and is an elected member of the American Academy of Dermatology Board of Directors. Research interests include the etiology of infantile vascular lesions, cutaneous infectious diseases, and manpower supply and training challenges in Pediatric Dermatology. She has authored more than 100 scholarly texts. Her honors include the UCSD Pediatric (as well as Dermatology) Faculty teaching awards, election to the American Dermatology Association, the Upjohn/UCLA Outstanding Resident Research Award, the AAD Gold Triangle Award, and the Children's Hospital Physician's Recognition Award. She is listed in Best Doctors, Top Doctors, Who's Who in America, and 2000 Notable American Women.
