About Rosemary Barclay, Aesthetician Specialist
Rosemary is the founder and owner of the wellness center, Bonne Santé ( which means good health in French). Rosemary has a Bachelor’s degree and a PhD in biochemistry and is a board certified nutrition specialist (CNS) and certified esthetician and acne specialist. Her many years of experience in pharmaceutical clinical research have allowed her to conduct in-depth research on individual cases and make careful recommendations to clients. Rosemary believes that nutritious foods are fundamental to good health. Nutrition affects many facets of your life including your health, well-being, the condition of your skin, energy levels, immunity, mood and your performance in sport. Rosemary’s doctorate degree specialized in allergy and immunology and she holds the Certified Nutrition Specialist qualification. Certified Nutrition Specialists (CNS) have advanced knowledge and clinical experience suited for the practice of clinical nutrition. Rosemary completed her board examinations in 2008 and has demonstrated skills in therapeutic nutrition, nutrition assessment, developmental nutrition, nutrient depletion & drug/herb interactions, dietary supplements, nutritional disorders and nutrition-related metabolic systems. Rosemary’s unique research background allows her to sort through the maze of conflicting nutritional information and dietary myths to provide clients with accurate information, advice and guidance. She works with individuals, groups, preschools, schools and small corporations to provide information via seminars and fun lunch and learn activities. Her passion is to educate clients to nourish their bodies with healthy home cooked foods and use supplements where necessary. She also advises clients with acne and rosacea on beneficial nutritional changes, facial treatments and use of appropriate organic skincare to improve the condition of their skin. She works with busy executives, young mothers and teens, educating them to nourish their bodies with simple nutritionally dense foods and simple effective skincare Rosemary relocated to Old Lyme, CT from England in 2001 with her family. She became a US citizen in 2010 but even prior to this volunteered at the local schools and remains passionate about education . She was one of the founder members of the Lyme/Old Lyme Education foundation and has also served on the Foundation’s grants committee. She was actively involved in the local Chamber of Commerce as the chair of the scholarship committee. Her family are active runners and are involved in cross country, crew to collegiate levels and Rosemary herself spends most days pursuing sport in a variety of forms. Situated in a quiet and tranquil location in Old Lyme, Bonne Sante’s treatment rooms are tastefully decorated and most importantly therapists provide clients with individual care and thoughtful recommendations. Bonne Santé’s services include nutritional counseling for individuals including athletes, sports massage and also provides wellness services to small corporations. Other services include organic facials to benefit adults and teens, with a particular emphasis on those afflicted with acne. With careful research and much thought Bonne Santé’s Clear Skin Program offers a solution to problematic skin without the use of antibiotics or harsh chemicals.
