About Robert G. Egbers, MD

Roberts Egbers, M.D., M.S., is a board certified dermatologist and completed an American College of Mohs Surgery (ACMS) fellowship at Johns Hopkins in Mohs Micrographic Surgery & Cutaneous Oncology. He is one of only two physicians here at Hopkins with this specialized training in the removal and reconstruction of skin cancers. Dr. Egbers received his undergraduate degree from Johns Hopkins University, graduating with honors with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering. He completed a dual-degree medical training program at the University of Michigan, where he graduated with his medical degree and a Master of Science degree in clinical research which focused on aging and sun-damaged skin. Dr. Egbers completed his internship at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn, Michigan, and then returned to the University of Michigan for his dermatology residency and to continue his clinical research. He has received numerous honors and awards and has been an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American College of Mobs Surgeons. His research and clinical focus is on the treatment of common and rare skin cancers, melanoma, complicated skin cancers, and Mohs surgery and reconstruction.. At the Johns Hopkins Outpatient Center, Dr. Egbers provides specialty care including Mohs surgery to patients diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, melanoma, and rarer tumors such as Merkel cell carcinoma, dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans, and others.
