About Molly Johnson, MD
I am originally from New England. I then spent nine of my childhood years in South America, Argentina, Bolivia, and Brazil. I attended Swarthmore College near Philadelphia where I graduated with distinction in Biology. I received my medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine. I did an Internal Medicine internship at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. My husband and I wanted to escape the humid summers and moved to the Bay Area, where I completed my residency at Stanford University Hospital. I then made a career change and completed a second residency in Dermatology, also at Stanford. As a specialist in Dermatology, I take care of conditions of the skin, hair, and nails, such as rashes and growths. I chose dermatology in order to be able to help patients look and feel better about their skin. I am board certified in Dermatology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, and a member of the San Mateo County Medical Association. I joined the Dermatology Department at Kaiser Permanente Redwood City in 1991. I am experienced in all aspects of clinical dermatology. I am also a member of the Clinical Faculty at Stanford, where I am a Clinical Associate Professor of Dermatology. I enjoy teaching Stanford medical students here at Redwood City, and also teaching Stanford dermatology residents at the Palo Alto Veterans Administration Hospital.
