About Meg Bodi, Aesthetician Specialist
Pretty Bird was founded in a moment of inspiration. After beauty school, I found myself feeling like the skincare side of my license just wasn't as exciting as waxing. I was great at waxing. I loved that there is no room for subjectivity, which suits my perfectionist ways much better than hair styling. (I started out as a cosmetology student.) Plus, I had a really terrible chemical peel experience, and the idea of having to cause injury to the skin in hopes it would heal even better, also called ""peel and heal"" in skincare, never made sense to me. After school, I worked exclusively in waxing, quickly becoming the regional trainer for a nationwide waxing chain. I had an incredible, fast paced few years there before getting the itch to do more for the clients who had come to trust me as their personal expert in all things skin. Pretty Bird grew out of my intense desire to share the philosophy that skin is an external indicator of internal wellness, along with a drive to finally be able to serve all of my waxing clients with a full complement of esthetic services. Meg is also certified in Oncology Esthetics (COE) as of 2014, meaning she has been trained and certified by an international organization to safely perform treatments for clients undergoing cancer treatment. The mission statement for Touch for Cancer's Oncology Esthetics program is: We are committed to educating and empowering estheticians/skin care therapists to impact the lives of cancer patients with compassion and healing. If you, a friend, or family member is currently undergoing treatment, please call for further information on service offerings and options. I would love to help - with your skincare needs or simply relaxation and self-care.
