About Mahmoud Khattab, MD
Dr. Khattab graduated from medical school at University of Damascus in Syria in July 1993. He also completed his rigorous internal medicine residency in 2007 at Case Western Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio, considered to one of the most prestigious, accredited institutions in the world for its leadership in the health care industry. After becoming board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, he was fortunate to be chosen to practice as an internist at Marshall Clinic in Wisconsin. Later, he served as Dickinson County Hospital’s Medical Director through June 2011. Dr. Khattab looks at medicine as a tool to help people and heal their pain while treating them as his own family by providing continuity of care. He believes the best care for patients is as an internist who combines inpatient and outpatient care. As an internist, Dr. Khattab can take care of his patients with the most appropriate current medical therapy, promote preventative care, health education, and admits them in the hospital when needed. He is able to admit patients to Sutter Hospital as well as Mercy Hospital. In both cases, the hospitalists will provide inpatient care for his patients, but he is in touch to coordinate the care.
