About Laura Bennack, MD
Born and raised in San Antonio, Dr. Laura Bennack is a graduate of Trinity University, St. Mary’s School of Law and the University of Texas Health Science Center Medical School. She did an internship in Surgery at University Hospital followed by several years work in Anesthesiology. She practiced Emergency Medicine for almost 15 years, finding it to be the perfect schedule while raising her two children. Once her children were grown, Dr. Bennack was able to satisfy her desire for more patient interaction and for control over the business aspects of a medical practice by entering the field of Aesthetic Medicine. Since opening Radiance Medspa in 2006, Dr. Bennack finds the spa allows her to contribute more to the community both through donating services to many charities as well as bringing the benefits of the latest and most cutting-edge procedures to San Antonio. These procedures were previously found only in large cities such as Los Angeles and New York City. Dr. Bennack believes that non-invasive procedures are the future of Aesthetics and through such procedures, women in their 20’s to 50’s may avoid the risks and costs of more invasive surgery yet still realize significant aesthetic benefits. Dr. Bennack considers it a privilege to be a physician and thinks of herself as working with the patient rather than “on” the patient. She describes Aesthetics as an art as well as a science. “Taking into account the structure of a particular patient’s face and how that patient looked 10 years earlier can avoid the patient receiving treatments that end up looking fake or unnatural.” Dr. Bennack spends a significant amount of time on continuing education in her field, attending trainings and conferences on cosmetic surgery and aesthetic procedures in innovative “beauty” venues such as Arizona, Las Vegas, New York City, and Los Angeles to bring back to San Antonio the latest and safest aesthetic treatments. Above all else, Dr. Bennack’s primary concern is the safety and satisfaction of her patients. She feels lucky to practice a form of medicine geared not only to improving a patient’s physical appearance, but also provides patients with a renewed sense of vitality and of being their true best self.
