About Joseph W. Parks, MD
A board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Joseph Parks grew up in Newnan, Georgia and received his Bachelors of Science in Biology from Vanderbilt University. Dr. Parks completed his medical degree at Mercer University in Macon, GA before entering the general surgery training program at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis. While training in general surgery, he became fascinated with diversity and possibilities in the discipline of plastic surgery and was offered the rare opportunity to matriculate directly into the three year plastic surgery program at the University of Tennessee. Dr. Parks has authored multiple articles and abstracts appearing in widely circulated plastic surgery publications. Dr. Parks has given lectures and presentations at both the regional and national level. His clinical practice focuses on breast reconstruction after breast cancer, body contouring after weight loss, breast augmentation, and a full range of cosmetic procedures.
