About Jordan E. Fishman, MD
Dr. Fishman received his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from The University of Pennsylvania before earning both his Doctor of Medicine and Master of Public Health Degrees at The Tulane University of Louisiana. He then completed a general surgery residency and a two-year basic science surgical research fellowship at Rutgers – New Jersey Medical School where he was ultimately elected administrative chief resident. Following his training in general surgery, Dr. Fishman moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to complete his plastic and reconstructive surgery residency at the University of Pittsburgh – one of the nation’s premier plastic surgery training programs. While in Pittsburgh, he was mentored by internationally-recognized leaders in the field of body contouring surgery, fat grafting, and complex breast reconstruction. He was chosen to complete an additional year of subspecialty training in cutting-edge reconstruction techniques as a microvascular and complex reconstruction fellow at the University of Pittsburgh. During this time, he also served as a Clinical Instructor of Plastic Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh, responsible for training surgical residents in microvascular skills. Dr. Fishman is a member of both the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society. He has been recognized for his commitment to education with multiple teaching awards at the institutional and national level. He continues to demonstrate his commitment to advancing the field of plastic surgery as a research fellow for the Department of Plastic Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh. He has published over 20 peer reviewed manuscripts and abstracts and has presented at many regional, national, and international scientific meetings.
