About John P. Sepe, DDS
With well over 30 years of experience in the dental field so far, Dr. Sepe has a wealth of clinical talents and education at his disposal when caring for patients. His favorite part of this job is the rewarding feeling he gets when the person in his treatment chair is genuinely pleased with the quality of their care and goes on to enjoy an improved quality of life. Interested in learning more about his background? Just keep reading below. When he was a kid, Dr. Sepe originally wanted to become an ophthalmologist – he even had his own eye exam kit! When he reached his early teens, though, his interests switched to dentistry and never swayed again. He created his own dental exam kit and regularly played “exam” with friends and family members. It turned out to be a great choice for a career. He always wanted to work directly with his hands and help other people! After completing his Bachelor of Science in Biology with honors at San Diego State University, Dr. Sepe pursued his Doctor of Dental Surgery at UCLA, which is notably the best dental school in the world. Over the course of his career, he’s amassed thousands of hours of post-doctoral education in orthodontics, orthopedics, craniofacial/TMD pain, and other specialty services so that he can serve his patients’ needs more effectively. He is currently a member of the San Diego County Dental Association, California Dental Association, and American Dental Association. Dr. Sepe’s family is Italian, and he and his siblings were born in France. The family first moved to the United States in the 1960’s. They imparted on him a strong sense of family traditions and the value of hard work. Today, his favorite activities outside of work include traveling with his wife, Leigh, reading, cooking, doing adventure sports (especially skiing), and gardening. Also, even when he’s away from the dental office, he enjoys studying about total body health and is a passionate lifelong learner. An interesting fact about Dr. Sepe: he is fluent in three languages.
