About Helen G. Kaporis, DO
Dr. Helen Kaporis is a board-certified dermatologist who specializes in medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. Born and raised in New York City, Dr. Kaporis graduated with honors from Fordham University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She earned her medical degree at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. While in medical school, Dr. Kaporis completed a research fellowship in Cutaneous Oncology at Rockefeller University’s Department of Investigative Dermatology. She has authored numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals, including Journal for Investigative Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery. After medical school, she completed her Internal Medicine Internship at Nassau University Medical Center in New York. Dr. Kaporis completed her dermatology residency at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Missouri, where she served as chief resident. She was in private practice in Mansfield and Arlington, Texas, prior to joining Cooper Clinic in 2013. She has a passion for helping patients feel confident about their skin and enhancing their natural beauty. Dr. Kaporis is active in numerous local and national dermatologic organizations including the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery. She has been a speaker at national conferences and currently serves as the socioeconomic chair of the Dallas Dermatologic Society. Dr. Kaporis is married to Aris Tsiakos, MD, a gastroenterologist in private practice. She enjoys skiing and playing tennis with her two young sons.
