About Eric W. Cerrati, MD
Dr. Eric Cerrati is a double board-certified facial plastic surgeon and is an expert in aesthetic and reconstructive facial plastic surgery. Dr. Cerrati is an Assistant Professor of Head & Neck Surgery of the University of Utah, Director of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Utah, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Cerrati is a surgeon, educator, and author of scientific papers covering many facial plastic surgery topics. Salt Lake City surgeon Dr. Cerrati is invited to lecture at numerous conferences both nationally and internationally to discuss his techniques. Dr. Cerrati received his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. His post-doctoral training included a 5-year surgical residency in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at New York University, one of the nation’s top programs. He was chosen to serve as the chief resident during his final year. In New York City, he worked with some of the most prominent facial plastic surgeons in the world, including his primary mentor Dr. David Rosenberg. Dr. Cerrati also spent a significant amount of time during these years working with Dr. Milton Waner, the founder of the Vascular Birthmark Institute of New York. This experience provided him with unique training in pediatric facial plastic surgery addressing the rarest congenital anomalies. Following residency, Dr. Cerrati completed one of the most prestigious fellowships in the country at the Facial Plastic Surgery Center in Chicago, under the guidance of Dr. Regan Thomas, Dr. Dean Toriumi, and Dr. Steven Dayan. The program is one of only 46 fellowships in the country sponsored by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS). Dr. Cerrati is board-certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, as well as the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery.
