About Edward Hahn, MD
Dr. Hahn joins our practice with a broad spectrum of plastic & reconstructive surgery training and interests. A New Jersey native, Dr. Hahn completed his undergraduate education at Saint Peter’s University – graduating Magna Cum Laude with a double major in Biochemistry & Physical Chemistry. Choosing to continue his education in his home state of New Jersey, Dr. Hahn continued his medical education at Rutgers University - New Jersey Medical School. After graduating at the top of his medical school class, Dr. Hahn had the privilege to be invited to stay at Rutgers University - New Jersey Medical School to continue his passion for Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery. During his 6 year combined general & plastic surgery residency, Dr. Hahn gained extensive experience in the management of traumatic injuries, breast cancer reconstruction, wound management, and hand surgery. Dr. Hahn then completed a hand, upper extremity, and microsurgery fellowship at The University of Connecticut under the tutelage of the esteemed Dr. H. K. Watson. Dr. Hahn is a Board Certified Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon that enjoys contributing to the future of plastic surgery, publishing numerous book chapters and journal articles as a leader in his field. He has presented his research and clinical experiences at several conferences, winning several awards for his presentations. He was awarded the Founder’s Award for Best Research Presentation at the New England Hand Society Conference. He is a member of multiple scientific & medical honor societies. Dr. Hahn is respected by his peers, and was recently appointed Division Chief of Plastic Surgery Trauma & Emergency Services under the Department of Plastic Surgery at Hackensack University Medical Center – a very natural fit after a tenure career as a paramedic before attending medical school. Dr. Hahn also serves as an Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at The Seton Hall – Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine. This academic appointment ideally satisfies Dr. Hahn’s passion for teaching medical students and plastic surgery residents in training. Dr. Hahn is invigorated by the vast scope of practice belonging to plastic surgery, and he is eager to provide reconstructive surgery for breast and skin cancer, perform cosmetic surgery, and help patients with their hand and wrist surgery needs.
