About Derrick J. Walker, DMD
Born and raised in Hudsonville, MI, Dr. Derrick Walker is excited to return to west Michigan and begin serving his community by providing quality dental care. Dr. Walker understands that patients have busy schedules, and therefore, strives to make each visit a positive and educational one. He has a passion for all aspects of dentistry, specifically helping patients achieve a beautiful and healthy smile. Education and Continuing Education Dr. Walker attended Alma College for his undergraduate degree where he majored in biology and minored in chemistry. Following graduation, he then enrolled at Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois, where he was awarded his Doctorate of Dental Medicine. Dr. Walker is dedicated to continuing his education as a lifelong learner and very committed to volunteer work. In 2018 he went on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic to provide free dental care to patients of all ages. He continues his charity work with local organizations such as Team Smile and Mission of Mercy. While not at the office, Dr. Walker enjoys relaxing at home with his Husband, Garrett, and their pets Prim and Leo. He enjoys playing games, watching movies, traveling, and boating with his family up at his family cottage in Traverse City.
