About Benjamin Rechner, MD
A diverse educational background is the foundation of Dr. Rechner’s surgical practice. Early in his education, an engineering degree gave him important problem solving skills. After choosing to follow his dream of becoming a doctor, he learned fundamental surgical principles and advanced surgical techniques through his general surgery training and plastic surgery residency. Dr. Rechner then rounded out his skills through a pediatric craniofacial fellowship, which sharpened his attention to detail in surgery. Dr. Rechner takes a comprehensive approach to your cosmetic and reconstructive surgery concerns and is dedicated to creating beautiful results. Living in Grand Rapids since high school, Dr. Benjamin Rechner is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and received his Medical Degree from the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in East Lansing, Michigan. Dr. Rechner completed his General Surgery and Plastic Surgery residency at the Grand Rapids Medical Education and Research Corporation at Michigan State University. He also completed a pediatric craniofacial surgery Fellowship at the University of Toronto Hospital for Sick Children. Dr. Rechner is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Surgery at Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine. As a member of the teaching faculty at the Grand Rapids Medical Education and Research Council (MERC), Dr. Rechner is committed to educating and training the medical students and residents who will be the doctors of the future. Dr. Rechner is also a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, the Michigan Academy of Plastic Surgeons, the Michigan State Medical Society, and the Kent County Medical Society. As a Cosmetic Surgeon and a reconstructive surgeon, Dr. Rechner is always available to answer your questions regarding any plastic surgery procedures.
