About Anh-Tuan Truong, MD
Anh-Tuan Truong, MD, FACS, FAACS, is a skilled cosmetic surgeon who is double board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery. Located in River North, Chicago, Dr. Truong’s approach to enhancement of the human form is to provide effortless, natural changes by minimizing scars, preserving anatomy, and working in harmony with the body. Dr. Truong has extensive education and over 20 years of experience in the field of cosmetic medicine. He began his formal education at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana, with a bachelor’s degree in Pre-Med and English. While there, he received the prestigious Notre Dame Scholar award. Dr. Truong completed his medical doctorate at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Denver. His surgical training was extensive, as he completed an internship at the University of Illinois and the Metropolitan Group Hospitals in Chicago. During an additional five years of internship training, he gained valuable experience in cancer, burn, vascular, trauma, and minimally invasive surgeries. During his surgical training, Dr. Truong served as chief resident of multiple hospitals, including Illinois Masonic Medical Center and Lutheran General Hospital, both in the Chicago area. He also received numerous awards and was published in medical journals for his work with skin regeneration. After completing his surgical training, Dr. Truong received the prestigious American Academy Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship. During his specialization, he gained experience in facial rejuvenation, breast and body restoration, liposuction, body sculpting, as well as minimally invasive aesthetic surgery and laser surgery. He also undertook a three-year apprenticeship in aesthetic plastic surgery under the direction of Michael Byun, MD, the renowned plastic and reconstructive surgeon of Chicago Cosmetic Surgery. Dr. Truong is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, as well as a member of the American Society of Cosmetic Breast Surgery. He was honored as one of America’s top surgeons in the field of cosmetic surgery by the Consumer’s Research Council of America in 2012. Dr. Truong has extensive knowledge, experience, and highly-specialized skills.
