About the Procedure
Last Updated: 03.01.2021Many people suffer from excess fat around their abdomen, waist, or thighs that is resistant to diet and exercise. For those who are looking for a completely noninvasive treatment option to eliminate fat, Zerona is a potential option. Zerona uses 635nm low level laser energy that causes no patient discomfort. Unlike liposuction or injection lipolysis, nothing pierces the skin during treatment. During a Zerona treatment session, patients will lay comfortably on a table with the laser situated above the treatment area. The Zerona machine is comprised of 5 different low light lasers that rotate. The patient will lay on their back for 20 minutes while the machine continuously circulates the lasers. After 20 minutes, the patient will flip over and lay on their stomach for an additional 20 minutes. The Zerona laser perforates fat cells, allowing engorged fat cells to release their contents to eventually be eliminated naturally via the lymphatic system. Patients are able to read, watch movies, or fall asleep while receiving treatment. After a series of sessions over 3-6 weeks, patients will notice a reduction in circumference in the waist, hips, and thighs. Patients are encouraged to maintain a healthy lifestyle for best results.
The goal of Zerona is to reduce the amount of fatty tissue in the waist, hips, and thighs for a reduced body circumference and improved contours.
