He performed the first Cleft Lip and Palate Surgery, the first Breast Cancer Reconstruction, Cosmetic Breast Surgery, and Facelift in Gaston County. Micro-vascular Muscle and Skin Transplants and the first Toe to Thumb Transplant in the area. He was the first Micro-vascular Plastic Surgeon in the Charlotte area and performed the first Micro-vascular Scalp Replantation in the region. While Dr. Voci’s main focus in his early career after his 5 years of Surgical Training at University of Washington in Seattle and his 3 years of Plastic and Micro-vascular Surgery training at Duke University and Hand Surgery at University of Louisville with Drs Kleinert and Kutz was in Reconstructive Surgery, Reconstructive Micro-vascular Surgery, Replants and Transplants for Birth Defects, Trauma, and Cancer. Dr. Voci graduated cum laude from both the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and University of Louisville School of Medicine, where he was also elected to the AOA Honor Society. Then, at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, Dr. Voci completed a 5 year General Surgery Internship, Residency, and Chief Residency. He received an Outstanding Resident Award there. Following that, he served on the University of Washington’s Faculty in General Surgery while waiting for a valued competitive spot at Duke University School of Medicine for his Plastic Surgery Residency and Chief Residency. During that time, Dr. Voci also went on to a highly-regarded Hand Surgery Fellowship at the University of Louisville under the world-renowned Hand Surgeons, Dr. Harold Kleinert and Dr. Joseph Kutz. Dr. Voci is Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and was Certified by the American Board of Surgery and is now Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, North Carolina Medical Society, Founder and First President of the Plastic Surgery Society of Greater Charlotte, and former Chief of Plastic Surgery at Novant Presbyterian Main Hospital in Charlotte, NC for 8 Years. Dr.Voci is obviously well-respected by his peers and patients alike. In addition, he was also the first head of Plastic Surgery at the Mason Clinic and the Virginia Mason Medical Center and Research Center in Seattle, WA.
