My name is Tiah and I am the proud owner of Uzuri Spa. Growing up, I've always had a fascination with my skin, bathing and maintaining a high standard for my appearance. Never in my wildest dreams, would I think to conceive such a passion for the likings. About the age of 17, I remember distinctively hearing a voice tell me that I would own a spa, naturally I paid it no attention. I lived life and became a mom at 22 and a realtor at 23. I'd like to believe I stumbled into this profession but deep down, I know I was lead by the Creator. Fortunately, my unhappiness in my life at that time, lead me to attend Fortis Institute for massage therapy and from there my life began to transform. I graduated from Fortis Institute in 2013 , where I found so much joy and peace as a massage therapist. I spent 4 years working at The Pearl Modern Spa & Boutique where I watched, studied and trained with some of the most talented and loving women in the field. God told me when I began that I was only there to learn, so I focused on just that until my time was up in 2017. That same year, I enrolled in Cortiva's skincare program and graduated securing a license while simultaneously taking a course in DC for womb health. After finishing that program, I enrolled in courses by Steamy Chick for national recognition and continuing education classes. Now, I felt ready! In 2017, I asked God for a name for the business knowing that I would grow and attract others to work with and Touched By Tiah. I then heard ""look up beauty in Swahili"", so I researched and Uzuri Spa, llc was born. From here my business began to take shape and to watch the growth, has been an amazing journey. My career has evolved into one I would have never imagined. My goal as a wellness advocate is to assist clients to actively participate and take charge of their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being. Intentionally crafting relationships to help me help my clients along the way, has been mind blowing. I give thanks and gratitude for the many teachers that I have crossed paths with that have kept me on my toes and strengthened me to keep going. In my spare time, I love to create natural healing products and running wild with my creative brain. Spending time and grooming my young princess is always a priority.
