About Ted Lain, MD

Dr. Lain is a board-certified Dermatologist and Chief Medical Officer specializing in diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the hair, skin and nails. He also specializes in minimally-invasive cosmetic and laser skin rejuvenation procedures. Dr. Lain is a Physician Trainer by Allergan, the company that makes BOTOX® Cosmetic, JUVÉDERM®, and VOLUMA. He trains other physicians and medical professionals how to correctly and safely inject these products and is the only physician trainer in Austin. After graduating with highest honors from the University of Texas, Dr. Lain obtained his joint medical/masters in business administration degrees from Baylor College of Medicine and Rice University in Houston, Texas. He then moved to Little Rock, Arkansas, where he completed his internship in Internal Medicine and his specialized training in Dermatology. Although born in South Africa, Dr Lain has spent most of his life in Texas, and considers himself a native Texan. Having grown up in this climate, Dr. Lain understands how the sun and local environment affect the skin. At Sanova Dermatology, Dr. Lain specializes in a variety of medical and cosmetic treatments for the skin, hair, and nails. This includes advanced laser procedures and cosmetic injectables. Dr. Lain lives in Austin with his wife and two children. He enjoys the outdoor lifestyle of Central Texas, and cooking is one of his favorite hobbies.
