About Steven J. Blackwell, MD
Steven Blackwell, M.D., graduated from Tulane University of School of Medicine in 1971, completed his residency in general surgery from The University of Cincinnati in 1975 and a plastic surgery residency from The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in 1978. He completed his education with a craniofacial fellowship at the Australian Craniofacial Unit, Adelaide Medical Center. Dr. Blackwell was with UTMB until his retirement from there in 2009 when he moved the cleft lip and palate program from Shriners Hospitals for Children — Galveston to Houston. He has been the director of the Cronin and Brauer Cleft Lip & Palate Clinic at Shriners Hospitals for Children — Houston since 2014.
