About Stephen F. Coccaro
Dr. Coccaro co-founded Suffolk Plastic Surgeons, P.C. with Dr. Adler in 1995. Soon after, they moved into their current East Setauket location, a brand new facility complete with an ambulatory surgical suite and luxurious on-site medical spa.Originally a Brooklyn boy from Xaverian High School, Dr. Coccaro now calls Setauket his home. He graduated with honors from New York University in 1981 as a member of the Beta Lambda Sigma Biology Honor Society, and went on to State University of New York’s Upstate Medical Center’s College of Medicine where he graduated in 1985.Dr. Coccaro has the distinction of dual medical residencies. In 1985, he began his first residency in General Surgery at St. Barnabas Medical Center, serving as Chief Resident in his final year. In 1990, he headed west for a residency in Plastic Surgery at the University of New Mexico after which he returned to New York and began his career as an associate with Dr. Adler in 1993. He has been Board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery since 1999.
