About Stephanie Savory, MD
Stephanie Savory, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Dermatology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in pigmented lesions, focusing on patients with a personal or family history of melanoma and/or numerous clinically atypical or dysplastic moles. Dr. Savory earned her medical degree at UT Southwestern, where she also completed her residency in dermatology. Certified by the American Board of Dermatology, Dr. Savory joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2013. As part of her focus on pigmented lesions, Dr. Savory offers full-body photography, which is similar to mole mapping. It offers patients with a history of melanoma or atypical moles a noninvasive way to track and target new or changing pigmented lesions. She also practices general and cosmetic dermatology. Through her research, Dr. Savory is working to develop and validate a melanoma screening curriculum that teaches non-health care providers to identify and appropriately refer patients with suspicious lesions. Dr. Savory is President of the Dallas Dermatological Society and a member of the Dallas County Medical Society, the Texas Medical Association, the American Medical Association, and the American Academy of Dermatology. She has published articles in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, JAMA Dermatology, and The American Journal of Dermatopathology, among other peer-reviewed publications. She delivers presentations regularly on melanoma, sun protection education, and other dermatological conditions.
