About Stephanie C. Orr, MD
I started my journey into dermatology during college at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. There, I studied art history and biology. I then returned to my home state of New Jersey and attended medical school at Rutgers University. I soon realized that the skills of visual analysis I learned while studying art carried through into learning the art of dermatology . After graduating, I moved out to beautiful Southern California and completed my dermatology training at Kaiser Permanente's Los Angeles Medical Center. After working for a private practice in Los Angeles for 4 years, my husband, my son, 2 labradoodles, and I decided to start our new adventure here in San Diego to live closer to my family. I strongly believe that in treating members, it is very important to see beyond the skin and treat members as people, not just a diagnosis. In doing so, the hope is to treat not only their condition but also their overall quality of life. I think it is just as important to take care of yourself, so that you can properly take care of others. During my free time I enjoy running, Pilates, hiking, and of course, chasing around my son and the doggies.
