About Shevanti M. Jegasothy, MD
Born in Sri Lanka and raised in Pennsylvania, I earned a B.A. in Biological Anthropology from Harvard College, and subsequently an M.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. I then pursued rigorous post-graduate residency programs at Yale-New Haven Hospital (Internal Medicine) and University of Miami Miller School of Medicine (Dermatology). My father was a pioneer dermatologist from the 1970’s to the 1990’s so I literally grew up in the specialty. I have authored almost 100 publications and served as an editor for Skin & Aging and Cosmetic Dermatology for over 15 years. I adhere to the strictest ethical standards and codes of integrity as outlined by the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) and American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS). This integrity becomes increasingly important as various non-supervised facilities come and go in the South Florida cosmetic dermatology marketplace.
