About Shannon D. Armstrong, MD
Dr. Shannon Armstrong is a highly skilled Plastic and Hand Surgeon at Elite Plastic Surgery in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Dr. Armstrong is Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, and completed an internationally-renowned fellowship at The Buncke Clinic in San Francisco. He was also clinical faculty for Stanford University and University of California San Francisco plastic surgery residents. He has authored many academic papers and book chapters. He has presented nationally and internationally. He is Chief of Surgery as well as Chief of Hand and Plastic Surgery at a regional hospital. He has helped develop many clinical improvement programs, making surgery safer and minimizing complications not only for his patients but for all patients. He continues to collaboratively develop and implement programs that improve patient care. In medical school, Dr. Armstrong received many top honors including selection to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha honorary society. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor for the Department of Surgery, Michigan State University and continues to be a vigorous researcher. His clinical passions include breast reconstruction, breast augmentation, abdominoplasty, microsurgery, hand surgery, extremity and trunk reconstruction, and cosmetic surgery. He is also an M.B.A. candidate at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business.
