About Sarah R. Sher, MD
Sarah R. Sher, MD, is a board-certified plastic surgeon for MedStar Health, accepting patients at MedStar Montgomery Medical Center, MedStar Washington Hospital Center, MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center, and MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. Dr. Sher offers a wide spectrum of Plastic & Reconstructive procedures with a specialized interest in breast reconstructive surgery. She primarily performs reconstructive procedures for women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. Her offered services include autologous, oncoplastic, and implant-based breast reconstruction personalized to the patient’s individual need. Though, Dr. Sher takes great interest in all areas of plastic & reconstructive surgery, including cosmetic surgery. Dr. Sher received her undergraduate degree from Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX. After graduation, she attended the University of Texas at San Antonio for Medical School. Dr. Sher then completed six years of Plastic Surgery Training at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC. During her training, she worked with several leaders in the field of breast reconstructive surgery and complex microsurgical techniques. Dr. Sher continues to contribute to the field of Plastic Surgery with multiple publications and book chapters per year. She regularly attends national meetings to stay up to date on the newest techniques and innovation.
