About Sangeeta Marwaha, MD
I was born in India, but I have lived in the United States for 45-plus years. I completed my education and medical training on the East Coast. Searching for warmer climate, my family and I moved to California 20-plus years ago. I am in the clinic Tuesday-Friday. I am very extremely proud of my children - adventurous and kind souls who are off exploring and enjoying adulthood. My last one just left this fall for Cal Poly, making me an “empty-nester”! Prior to my move, I worked in private practice in Baltimore, Maryland. I had a tremendous opportunity to refine my general medical/surgical skills and learn a great deal about cosmetic dermatology. I performed a variety of cosmetic procedures, participated in various clinical trials, and developed new applications for lasers. I joined Kaiser Permanente South Sacramento Dermatology in 1998, where I enjoy a diverse practice of medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology, along with teaching UC Davis residents and doing research. I work with a team of incredible physicians, nurses, and physician assistants. I know that my colleagues and I provide superior dermatological care and I would not hesitate to recommend any one of them to a family member! I am a medical and surgical dermatologist. I have 20+ years of clinical experience and my interests include pediatric, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. As a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, I enjoy keeping current on new therapies and advances in my field, as well as educating colleagues, residents, students and patients. I am the Chief of Cosmetic Dermatology, where I manage a full-service department of excellent physicians, nurses, and an esthetician. We offer a variety of cosmetic services including Botox, fillers, peels, facials and a variety of laser treatments. Even though I am a dermatologist, I feel very strongly that issues of general health, such as sun protection, smoking cessation, exercise, meditation, self-care and compassion are extremely important to living a full life. We all need support and encouragement. I have an extremely busy schedule; however, I feel that meditation and exercise are essential elements in my day and great stress relievers. And often, an exercise partner helps. Feel free to join me there!
