About Samir R. Shah, MD
Dr. Samir R. Shah is a Board Certified plastic surgeon. Dr. Samir Shah specializes in cosmetic surgery of the body, breast, and face. He utilizes the latest technology in liposuction, breast augmentation, and facial rejuvenation. Dr. Samir Shah is an artist, and individualizes his approach to patients and gives honest recommendations combining his understanding of anatomy and surgical expertise to achieve beautiful and natural results. In addition, Dr. Samir Shah is on staff at Advocate Christ Hospital, Palos Community Hospital, Elmhurst Hospital, Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital and Adventist Hinsdale Hospital. He serves these local hospitals by performing reconstructive hand surgery and works regularly with established hand surgeons. Dr. Samir Shah graduated college from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a major in finance. He earned his medical degree at the Chicago Medical School. Thereafter, he trained in general surgery and subsequently completed a plastic surgery fellowship at Loyola University Medical Center. After plastic surgery training, he completed a one-year fellowship in hand surgery/microsurgery under the direction of world-renowned hand surgeon, Larry Hurst, M.D., at Stony Brook University, Long Island, NY. He has published numerous scholarly articles in medical journals, and he is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, Illinois Society of Plastic Surgery, the American Society of Hand Surgery, and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. He has received his certificate of qualification for hand surgery. Dr. Samir Shah participates in plastic surgery resident education at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Plastic surgery residents rotate with Dr. Shah, and he teaches them principles of aesthetic surgery. He also lectures locally to various organizations. He is grateful to have the unique opportunity to practice with his father who has over thirty years of experience in plastic surgery. Dr. Shah is married with three kids who keep him busy outside of work.
