About Ruth K. Treiber, MD
Dr. Ruth Kaplan Treiber graduated from Cornell University’s College of Arts and Sciences in Ithaca, N.Y. and received her MD degree from Cornell University Medical College in New York City. After two years of Internal Medicine study at The New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center, she continued her training with a residency in dermatology at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, which she completed in 1983. She has been in active clinical practice since that time, since 1993 she has shared her office in Rye with Dr. Eric Treiber (her husband) and Dr. Danielle Engler. Dr. Ruth Treiber is an Associate Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University and an Associate Attending in Dermatology at the Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, New York. She is involved in the education of dermatology and medical residents and students at Columbia Presbyterian, where she assists in clinics and attends continuing education conferences. She is an active member of several committees within Columbia’s Department of Dermatology, which deal with medical education as well as clinical dermatology issues. Dr. Ruth Treiber is a board-certified dermatologist (The American Board of Dermatology). She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, a Fellow of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, a member of the American Medical Association, Westchester County Medical Society, and several other professional organizations. She has been listed in ‘The Best New York Metro Area Doctors (Castle-Connolly Medical Ltd.), in New York Magazine’s The Best Doctors in New York, and in Westchester Magazine’s The Best Doctors in Westchester. Dr. Treiber’s main areas of interest include treatments for aging or sun-damaged skin (including Botox and Restylane), acne, skin cancer detection and prevention, and ongoing patient education to enhance optimal skin health and appearance.
