About Richard M. Susel, MD
Dr Susel is a board-certified Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr Susel is a Clinical Instructor of Ophthalmology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital Medical School and at the Johns Hopkins Hospital Wilmer Eye Institute where he teaches both ophthalmology residents and medical students. Dr Susel is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Maryland Hospital as well as an ophthalmology consultant on the staff of the Veterans Administration Hospital in Baltimore.Dr Susel is Chief of Ophthalmology at St. Agnes Hospital and is on the active surgical staff at Howard County General Hospital. Dr Susel practices comprehensive ophthalmology specializing in cataract, corneal disease, glaucoma, as well as plastic surgery around the eye. He is a consultant in refractive and cataract surgery having performed thousands of refractive and cataract surgery procedures. Dr Susel and his wife, Carolyn Pass, M.D. received the distinguished service award for outstanding service to the University of Maryland School of Medicine and the Medical Alumni Association in 2011.
