About Richard N. Hess, MD
Richard N. Hess, MD is a cosmetic, plastic, and reconstructive surgeon. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles with degrees in biology and chemistry. He then attended the University of Arizona Medical School and graduated in the top third of his class. He performed his general surgical internship and residency at the Phoenix Integrated Surgical Residency program. He then completed his plastic surgery residency at the University of Rochester's Strong Memorial Hospital in New York. Dr. Hess also spent six months to further study microsurgery and facial reconstruction at Roswell Park Memorial Institute in Buffalo, New York. His special interests throughout his training have been in cosmetic and hand surgery. He has also had special training in the use of lasers. Dr. Hess is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS.). His tenure as the Section Chief of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery was from 1989 - 2000. Dr. Hess performs many of his cosmetic procedures at Northwest Tucson Surgery Center located on the campus of Northwest Medical Center. For those patients requiring a hospital setting, Dr. Hess is an active staff member at Northwest Medical Center and Oro Valley Hospital. Dr. Hess performs his procedures (other than those under local anesthesia) only in accredited medical facilities and he utilizes only board-certified anesthesiologists. Dr. Hess and his staff strive to maintain the highest quality of care in a comfortable environment.
