About Richard C. Allen, MD
Dr. Allen is an oculoplastic surgeon in Houston, Texas, with affiliations to multiple hospitals in the area. He is currently a Professor with tenure at Baylor College of Medicine in the Department of Ophthalmology. He attended Baylor College of Medicine for his MD/PhD studies, completing a residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Iowa. He completed two fellowships, one in ophthalmic genetics and a second in oculoplastic surgery, both at the University of Iowa. He is a former Assistant Professor at the University of New Mexico, and an Associate Professor with tenure at the University of Iowa. He also held a clinical position at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden. He is also the author of Oculoplastic Surgery Videos, an education resource for beginning to advanced oculoplastic surgeons. He filmed and narrated hundreds of oculoplastic surgery procedures and have them available, free of charge, to anyone who wishes to learn from them.
