About Renee M. Howard, MD
Dr. Renee Howard was born at Marin General Hospital and grew up in Tiburon and San Anselmo. She attended local schools including Saint Anselms and Sir Francis Drake High School. She graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in Biochemistry from UC Davis, then obtained her M.D. from University of California, San Francisco (U.C.S.F.). Dr. Howard completed pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital Oakland, then practiced general pediatrics in San Francisco and Marin for four years with Doctors Piel, Patton, Aicardi, Gonda and Ernster. Seeing so many children with skin problems in pediatric practice sparked her interest in Dermatology. In 1992 she returned to UCSF for Dermatology residency. After her dermatology training, she was the Chief of Pediatric Dermatology at Children’s Hospital Oakland for four years.
