About Renata Jenkin, MD
Dr. Renata Jenkin, MD, PhD, career journey in Dermatology began in 1986 when she graduated with her Ph.D. in Immune Regulation from McMaster University in Ontario, Canada. The completion of her Ph.D. she was accepted to medical school and subsequently completed her dermatology residency at the University of Toronto. She received her Board Certification from The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (FRCPC) in Canada in 1995 and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (FAAD). Dr. Jenkin’s 23 year dermatology career has been predominately Seattle based and included private practice, large group hospital based practice and Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Washington. Throughout her career, she has been heavily involved with clinical teaching of general dermatology. Her love of teaching spills over to her patient interactions where is known to spend generous time explaining the patient’s condition in their words. This understanding which will empower the patient in treatment compliance. Dr. Jenkin’s clinical expertise includes all ages, from infants, adolescents to elderly skin needs. She has a focused interest in skin cancer such as melanoma and squamous/basal carcinomas in addition to, chronic skin disorders such as eczema, psoriasis, acne, hair and nail disorders. Outside of the office, she enjoys outdoor activities with family and friends such as downhill skiing and hiking. She is a mother of 3 grown children and values having her children living in the Chicago area.
