About Ramin Tayani, MD
Ramin Tayani, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist and a fellowship-trained orbital-facial plastic surgeon who specializes in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery of the eyes and upper face. Dr. Tayani founded the Tayani Institute in 2000, and it has since grown to include practice locations in San Clemente, Mission Viejo, Laguna Hills, Irvine, Oceanside, Lake Arrowhead, Big Bear Lake, and Costa Mesa, California. At the University of California, Irvine, Dr. Tayani double majored in biology and psychology. He went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine from the same institution, then completed his Master of Science in health policy and management at the University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Tayani finished an internship at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, followed by a residency in ophthalmology at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. Because of his expertise, Dr. Tayani was accepted into a competitive fellowship program at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where he focused on ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery. Throughout his training, Dr. Tayani also participated in several preceptorship programs with key members of the aesthetics community. Board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, Dr. Tayani is a trusted expert in his field. Dr. Tayani maintains professional memberships with the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Medical Association, the Orange County Medical Association, and the California Medical Association. He’s also on staff at some of Southern California’s premier hospitals, including Mission Memorial, South Coast Medical Center, Hoag Health Center, and St. Jude Medical Center, to name a few. Dr. Tayani established his practice, Tayani Institute, because he believes it’s always in the patient’s best interest to see a specialist, especially in cases involving the eyes. He’s known for providing patient-centric care, where patients are treated like family and are involved in every step of the decision-making process regarding their health care. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Tayani regularly donates his time and services to the Child Abuse Prevention Center. He also participates in fundraisers for the American Cancer Society and the American Diabetes Association.
