About Rajendra R. Shah, MD
Rajendra R. Shah, M.D. has practiced in the Chicago area for most of his medical career. After receiving his M.D. in India, Dr. Shah completed his surgery residency at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Hospital in Chicago, IL before entering the plastic surgery residency program at Ohio State University in Columbus, OH. After finishing his residency, Dr. Shah returned to the Chicago area where he opened his private practice and has been a member on staff at Christ Hospital since 1983. Dr. Shah served as a clinical instructor at Ohio State University while in Columbus, OH, then as assistant professor in the Department of Plastic Surgery at Rush Medical College in Chicago, IL until 1994. He is currently a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He has been involved in training plastic surgery residents for over 15 years. He routinely lectures at the University on various topics in cosmetic surgery. Teaching the new generation of plastic surgeons has been a rewarding experience for Dr. Shah. Dr. Rajendra Shah is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, American College of Surgeons, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, Illinois Society of Plastic Surgeons and Midwestern Association of Plastic Surgeons. He has served as President of the Chicago Society of Plastic Surgeons and is past President of the Midwestern Association of Plastic Surgeons. He has made numerous professional presentations and authored several articles on plastic surgery. Dr. Rajendra Shah has two sons and a daughter and resides in the Chicago suburbs with his wife. Dr. Shah is double board certified.
