About Raj P. Terkonda, MD, FACS
After graduating valedictorian, Dr. Raj TerKonda entered the six-year BA-MD program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC). During medical school, he achieved numerous honors including the John C. Hunter award for academic excellence in anatomy; Lange Publishing Company medical student award; grand prize winner & best presentation awards at UMKC's First Annual Research Day; Phi Kappa Phi Graduate Fellowship (only 50 in the nation); & junior inductee into Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. He continued to excel during his six-year residency in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at the University of Minnesota. He received a National Research Service Award and the Albert Hohmann Award for resident research. During residency, he also completed a Master's of Science (M.S) degree with research on bone healing. After residency, Dr. TerKonda completed a fellowship in Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at the University of California-Davis. During fellowship, he won the John Orlando Roe Award from the American Academy of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery for the best clinical research paper by a graduate fellow. After training, Dr. TerKonda became an assistant professor at the University of Florida in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery for three years. The next 14 years were spent in Colorado at the Longmont Clinic, PC, where he had a very active practice encompassing medical skin care; noninvasive and laser procedures; cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face; rhinoplasty & functional nasal/sinus surgery; and headache & sleep apnea surgery. In 2009, he was selected by his peers as a Top Doctor in Plastic Surgery of the Head & Neck in Denver's 5280 magazine. In 2015, Dr. TerKonda left Colorado to Los Angeles, where he had the honor of working with Dr. Zein Obagi at the world-reknowned Obagi Skin Health Institute in Beverly Hills, and Cedars Sinai Medical Center. In 2017, Dr. TerKonda was recruited by HonorHealth in Phoenix/Scottsdale to help develop head and neck center of excellence.
