Purushottam Nagarkar, M.D., is an Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center. His clinical focus is on hand surgery and microsurgical reconstructive techniques. Dr. Nagarkar sees patients at our UT Southwestern Plastic Surgery Clinic in Frisco. Dr. Nagarkar earned his medical degree at UT Southwestern. He completed his residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at UT Southwestern, and then received advanced training in hand and microsurgery at University of California, Los Angeles. In addition to hand surgery and microsurgery, Dr. Nagarkar’s clinical interests include breast reconstruction, facial injuries and fractures, and cosmetic surgery including body contouring and facial aesthetic surgery. “Plastic surgery is truly restorative surgery,” says Dr. Nagarkar. “Everything we do has the goal of returning patients to their better selves. That might mean reconstructing a patient's breasts after mastectomy, or giving back a patient with rheumatoid arthritis the ability to use her hands.” “My philosophy is simple: I’m not satisfied until my patients really understand their diagnosis, and the pros and cons of each option. Each patient is unique, and there are no cookie-cutter solutions.
